John earned $75 for cutting grass. He put 3 ten-dollar bills, 2 five-dollar bills, and 5 one-dollar bill in the bank. How much money was not put in the bank?

Kara received 1 twenty-dollar bill and 2 five-dollar bills for her birthday. Brooke has five dollars less than Kara. How much money does Brooke have?

Billy has 4 ten-dollar bills, 4 five-dollar bills and 4 one-dollar bills. He spent $25 on groceries. How much money does he have left?

Different Combinations of Coins You can use different combinations of coins that equal the same amount.

Scott has 27 cents. He has 1 quarter and 2 pennies. You can think of a number bond and think of another way to make 25¢. 2 dimes and 1 nickel also equal 25¢. So, another way to make 27¢ is 2 dimes, 1 nickel, and 2 pennies.
