Common household location
Kitchen Drawer
The item is made of metal throughout with an obvious handle end, a sharp slicing edge, and a possible scooping function. The shape of the handle lends itself to comfort given the flared end fits nicely into ones palm and the tapered end of the handle ensures a firm grip while using as a peeler.

• Sample potato peelers from the same timeline beginning in the 20th century. Each peeler shares the same ingenuity of having a sharp slicing edge and some form of handle ensuring the user is comfortable and hopefully safe in his experience.
• We had a photo of what can happen if a potato peeler doesn’t provide the user with a safe and secure handle, to graphic.

We searched and found that our neighbor chose not to own or use a conventional style potato peeler and opted for a multifunctional device. While we understand his logic of multi purpose we could not get past the scars left in our thumbs and cannot recommend this style of tool.
In this next series of photos we wanted to test a few theories before we lay claim that this, in fact, is a potato
peeler.
• Here we tried using the peeler to shovel snow
• Given its “scooped” shaped end we wondered its effect
Given the amount of snow that needed to be removed and the
significant difference in size relationship, we found the object to be unrealistic as a snow removal device.
We also tried using the device as a feline grooming utensil.
While the feline was stimulated by the object, it proved un-useful as a grooming tool
We did however, find the device quite useful for peeling other item
beyond potatoes.
It seemed perfect to use for peeling carrots, beets, apple, and even pears.
It also proved useful for making shaving of fruits and vegetable
Maybe we mistook the device and it could be considered a fruit and vegetable peeler. Probably to many words for our subject culture
to use, nonetheless, the object does perform these functions.
We found that humans from the subject culture prefer not to eat the outer portion of most fruits and vegetable. They also preferred using the most simple action to remove the outer portion. The potato(e) peeler fulfilled
this role well.
Ultimately,we believe the tool is used for food preparation while addressing ones taste palate. The peeler is found in many different countries and it’s origin dates the late 1600’s.
• Few people realize that the potato(e) peeler originated in Mongolia. The Mongols saw that the rudder action they used while skiing practically "peeled" the snow below them.

In approximately 1701 the peeler made its way to Korea. Here we see a young man readying something delicious for his family.

Did you notice as the potato(e) peeler made its way around
the globe it practically stayed along the same latitudinal
lines?
As the peeler made its way to the United States people stood in line for hours to purchase their own apparatus

Today, peelers are in plentiful supply, you can buy boxes full any day of the week. 24/7

Shown here in current day is a pot containing fresh vegetables steaming over a cooking range.
Once our subject eats the delicious creation he will be able to sustain life long enough to play video games, watch football, or even study. All,
because of a potato(e) peeler.
