ATTENDANCE
POLICY ON
ATTENDANCEStudents who miss class for any reason find it difficult if not
impossible to make up for the work done in class.
For this reason Old Bawn Community School aims to maximise student attendance and to minimise erosion of class time through
activities.
Students who miss 5 days or more in any given school term should be considered as being at risk of not achieving a satisfactory
attendance record.

RECORDING
ATTENDANCESystem called VSware
Every teacher records attendance online for every class
information is fed back to the office and from there it is communicated to the Year Head and Student Development Officer
Text sent to parent of absent student
ATTENDANCE Attendance is looked at on a daily basis
Signing out – if your son or daughter needs to leave school please provide a permission to leave note on the pink pages of journal
It is important that the parent/guardian provides a note of absence on the blue pages of the journal
Encourage students to catch up on missed work when absent
It is the school's responsibility to report to the NEWB the names of any students who are absent for 20 days or more.
LATESAs part of our Q.L.E. (Quality Learning Environment), it is required that students be prepared, organised and on time for class.
Very disruptive to classes when students arrive late.
Genuine late – please provide a note on yellow pages of journal
Lates are monitored on a daily basis and persistent late-comers very quickly come to light.
