Invitation

Dear Colleagues and Friends

It is our utmost pleasure to invite you to the rst Rajasthan State Chapter Conference of the Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India (RAJ-AGOICON 2020). This two-day conference cum workshop is being organized by the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur on 22nd & 23rd February;2020.

Rajasthan state chapter of AGOI was launched in May 2019 under the leadership of its founder president Dr. Ranu Patni and founder secretary Dr. Pratibha Singh, with the purpose of spreading the word about gynaecologic oncology among the practitioners of Rajasthan. As we sail through the 21st century with newer developments in both the preventive and therapeutic modalities in the treatment of cancer, we still fail to apply these modalities at the grass-root level. The incidence of all gynaecologic malignancies and associated mortality rates remain beyond acceptable in our country and our state.

The theme of the conference is “From conventional to experimental” in order to revisit the conventional approaches and introduce the newer concepts in the management of gynaecologic malignancies. There will be two workshops with hands on training under the renowned gynaecologic oncologists of the country. The first workshop is the “Cadaveric surgical skill workshop”, which will be the first of its kind ever organized in the state and would allow the trainees to understand the operative principles of various cancer surgeries performed for genital malignancies. The second workshop is also a hands-on training workshop for various procedures like thermocoagulation, cryocautery, LEEP, LLETZ, SWETZ and conization. The training will be provided by the renowned and experienced colposcopists from all over the country.

There will be didactic lectures on the basics as well as advances in the field of gynaecologic oncology. It will be a good learning experience for all the gynecologists passionate about treating women with genital malignancies. We have chalked out an extremely fulfilling scientific program with the stalwarts of the field and hope that this enlightens all of us dealing with cancer patients with better understanding of female genital cancers.

We look forward to welcoming you all to the “sun city” of India and the beautiful state of the art campus of AIIMS, Jodhpur.

With best Regards.
