ETCEXEMPLES DE PROJECTES FINANÇATS:

• Culture, Creative projects and Cultural Tourism. 2007-2013, 11% of ETC total budget = EUR 1.019 Millions

• Preserving cultural heritage landmarks, such as monuments, archaeological sites or historic buildings (tangible heritage).

• Cultural educational exchanges.• Development and implementation of promotion activities.

• BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus -2010-2014. Implementation of eGuideswith cross border shared content for South Baltic Oceanographic Museums (http://en.southbaltic.eu)

• The Danube Limes-UNESCO World Heritage project focused on the sustainable preservation and protection of joint Danube ‘limes’ – the frontier installations of the former Roman Empire - by nominating them for World Heritage status. The process started in Slovakia, Hungary and Austria and will eventually encompass all countries that the River Danube flows through (www.danube-limes.eu).

DG ENVIRONMENT: LIFE +

• LIFE is a catalyst: it provides a platform for the development and exchange of best practices and knowledge thereby improving, catalyzing and accelerating changes;

• LIFE is the ideal instrument to show to regional and national authorities the benefits of investing in the environment sector and incentivizing them to develop strategic frameworks for spending.

LIFE +EXEMPLES DE PROJECTES FINANÇATS:

• Projects promoting synergies between integrated coastal management and maritime spatial planning, demonstrating the added value of coordinating integrated coastal management and maritime spatial planning in new marine contexts, supporting the concrete implementation of sea basin strategies including implementation of relevant Union law, or connecting integrated coastal management and maritime spatial planning with the procedures for designating and managing Marine Protected Areas or Natura 2000 sites.

• Projects implementing integrated and comprehensive policies for sustainable urban planning and design through innovative approaches regarding urban public transport and mobility, sustainable buildings, energy efficiency or urban biodiversity conservation.

• Projects targeting invasive alien species, where these are likely to deteriorate the conservation status of species (including birds) or habitat types of Community Interest in support of the Natura 2000 network.

• Projects aiming to initiate beach and sea clean-up schemes as a means to increase awareness of the impacts of marine litter, and thereby increasing awareness on issues related to the protection of the marine environment that are targeted by the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (2008/56/EC).

• Estructura del programa: • The new Fund will be used to co-finance projects, along with

national funding.• Each country will be allocated a share of the total Fund

budget, based on the size of its fishing industry.• Each country will then draw up an operational programme,

saying how it intends to spend the money.• Once the Commission approves this programme, it is up to the

national authorities to decide which projects will be funded

EUROPEAN MARITIME AND FISHERIES FUND

TÒPICS - REPTESThe new fund will:

• help fishermen / sector in transition to sustainable fishing • support coastal communities in diversifying their economies • finance projects to create new jobs, improve quality of life along European coasts • make it easier to access financing.

For example: projects oriented to …• Enhance and capitalize on environmental assets;• Develop tourism-related project, such as eco-tourism, pesca-tourism,

accommodation, tourist trails, diving, etc.• Address "diversification" – either to replace fishing or to provide complementary

activities & income for fishermen• To develop professional trainings, life-long learning and acquisition of new

professional skills.• Add value to local products and activities – gastronomy, food fairs / festivals etc.• Promote cultural and maritime heritage of fisheries, aquaculture – refitting vessels

to museum, educational fishing trips, presentations to schools, tourist groups…• ‘Guardians of the sea' activities – monitoring of protected areas, guided tours in

protected areas, environmental education, collection of marine litter, wildlife watching etc.

DG EMPLOYMENT, SOCIAL AFFAIRS AND INCLUSION: EUROPEAN SOCIAL FUND

• It aims to provide well-targeted and policy-driven investments to deal with unemployment, skills, education and social inclusion challenges and structural reforms.

• Set up to reduce differences in prosperity and living standards across EU Member States and regions, and therefore promoting economic and social cohesion.

EUROPEAN SOCIAL FUNDEXEMPLES DE PROJECTES FINANÇATS:

• Previously, tourism projects have resulted from measures for active labourmarket policies, adaptability of workers and enterprises.

• MT: training programme ‘Advance: Training Tourism Leaders’. • ES: training for tourism experts, aimed at job-seekers. • RO: training people in the tourism sector. • PL: work placements for vocational students in the fields of tourism, construction,

IT, electronics, transport and gastronomy. • CY: increase skills in the tourism sector by offering training.• SI: the Bosnian Cultural Association of Slovenia has received funding for a

project to include ‘alternative sights’ into Ljubljana.• IT: training for tour operators that covers local knowledge, foreign languages and

marketing techniques.• EL: training programme for jobseekers: courses in economics and management,

tourism, technical professions, and logistics and transport.• PT: a project to get new skills and improve chances of finding a job in the rural

tourism.

• The ESF is a key financial instrument to support the Europe 2020 Strategy targeted at improving the lives of EU citizens by giving them better skills and better job prospects.

• The ESF can provide indirect support to tourism sector by co-financing employment and training interventions which have an impact on the employment situation and the level of professional qualifications.
