Thank you to all of you who support your children in their education. Homework is a great way for you to see what your child is working on and lend support to their education. Reading instruction is moving at a brisk pace. Please practice with and cheer your child on. We work hard in Kindergarten! We wear ourselves out and need plenty of rest. (Children this age require about 10 hours of sleep daily.) Please ensure your child gets adequate rest so he/she will be able to work at the best of his/her ability.
First Grade
During November 1st grade students will be reading and writing poetry, counting and recognizing money and learning about natural resources and American values. Parents are always encouraged to read with their

Brown Booster Club News
This school year is already in full swing and many exciting things are happening at Brown. The Read-a-Thon has just wrapped up and we read an incredible 33,542 books and raised $5,931.50! There will be an awesome celebration to pass out prizes as soon as they arrive. A big congratulation to Ms. Kimball’s kindergarten class for signing up the most Booster Club members! As a big “Thank You” from the Brown Booster Club, Ms. Kimball’s class will be enjoying a pizza party soon . Fall is in the air, and along with cooler temperatures come some really fun activities that will be happening with the students at Brown. With help from the Booster Club, the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes enjoyed a trip to the Smithville Fire Station and the Pumpkin Patch where they chose their very own pumpkin and some for their classrooms. On November 21st, the cafeteria will be serving their famous Turkey and Dressing Thanksgiving dinner and all are invited. The cafeteria would also appreciate any volunteer help at the dinner if anyone would like to spend some time helping out. Please send in your “Box Tops for Education”. This is a great way to raise some money to help purchase extra items that teachers might like in their classrooms for the students. Smencils are also for sale in the office and sell for $1.00 each. The next Booster Club meeting will be November 12th at 4:15. We have several exciting things happening with the Booster Club this year so come out and join us.

Attendance:
Brown Primary is honoring perfect attendance in a variety of new ways this year! This year we passed out a “brag tag” to every student who had Perfect Attendance. The students with Perfect Attendance were extremely excited to receive these tags! We will be incorporating other rewards throughout the year for the classes who have the best attendance each week and each six weeks! Attendance is extremely important to our children’s education. Please make sure you bring your child to school, on time, on time every day.
