    Compact antennas are needed so that more antennas can be closely packed toether !ithout

    the risk of mutual and parasitic couplin bet!een them"

    #or local area net!orks$ there is an emerin interest in makin antennas small enouh to

    ultimately fit on a sinle chip !ith the rest of the recei%in front-end"

    At lo! frequencies &'#()'#*$ miniature antennas are in hih demand$ since the antenna si+e

    often imposes a sinificant limitation on the o%erall si+e of a portable !ireless system"

    Conclusion

    >e proposed a meander slot antenna !hich has non uniform slot line !idths">ith same dimension the resonant frequency of the antenna has been decreased from

    0"43 :'+ to 2"03 :'+"

    Con%entional meander slot antenna suests that the resonant frequency of the

    meander antennas decreases by increasin meander sections" 'o!e%er" !e can

    decrease the resonant frequency by reducin the slot !idth !ithout chanin the totallenth of the meander sections$ thus maintain the o%erall antenna si+e"

    >ith this approach$ the si+e of the modified antenna is about /;< smaller than that

    of con%entional one"

    The disad%antae of these antennas !ould be its lo! radiation efficiency due tosmall area"

    Stackin hih dielectric substrate on the antenna and8or usae of a hih temperature

    superconductor surface could be adapted to compensate the lo! radiation efficiency"
