(Thursday) at 7 p.m. Road closures will begin at 6 p.m. St. Joseph Church will close at 4 p.m.
There is No Mass in Spanish at 7 p.m. St. Joseph Academy will have Food Concessions Booths and
Parking ($5) for fundraisers at the event.

Evening Prayer During the Advent Season we are invited to participate in Evening Prayer on Saturday beginning 3:30 p.m. before the 4:00 p.m.
Mass and 6:30 p.m. before the 7:00 p.m. Spanish Mass. Evening Prayer is part of the Liturgy of the Hours one of the other
Liturgical Prayers of the Church. The origins of this prayer are based in the earliest times of the Church. People gather together to sing, pray the psalms, hear scripture, pray for the Church and pray the Our Father. This prayer is universal in the sense that it is prayed throughout the Church every day. Here at St. Joseph we will have an opportunity to pray with the wider Church in this wonderful and ancient prayer of the Church. Please come and consider praying with us the four Saturdays of Advent. The first Saturday is December 2, 2018.

We are looking for ministers who will assist in cleaning and preparing the altar linens for the parish, once a week. These linens are used on the altar, so special care is given to them. If you are interested in helping us, all you need to be able to do is wash and iron.

Bereavement Support Group Forming
Feeling alone and overwhelmed? Suf- fering from a loss such as a death of a family member or friend? Retirement? Loss of job? Divorce, etc.? A support group is forming to begin on Wednesday, December 7th from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. A support group can help focus the suffering to creative ends so that we are again filled with hope and love for life and for ourselves. AD- VENT star ts Sunday, December 2nd. The Gift Shop has
their assortment of candles (including battery powered), Ad- vent Wreaths, and Advent Calendars on
display now. We also have a new book for children and parents alike - Advent and Christmas Traditions. In this
book, young readers will learn about God's promise and the amazing way He fulfilled it on the first
Christmas. They will learn how Advent is the time to prepare their hearts for Christmas, and also to get ready for
Jesus' return. This book features both the story of Christmas, as well as customs and activities to
help young and old prepare to receive t he infant King into their hearts.
The 2019 Guides to the Liturgy of the Hours and the 2019 Guide to Christian Prayers are also in.
The Gift Shop will be open the Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 25, 2018.

Oracion Vespertina (Oración de la Tarde) Durante la temporada de Adviento estamos invitando a todos los feligreses a
participar en la Oración Vespertina (Oración de la Tarde) el sábado a partir
de las 6:30 p.m. antes de la Misa de las 7:00 p.m. Misa en español.
La Oración Vespertina es parte de la Liturgia de las Horas, una de las ora-
ciones litúrgicas de la iglesia. Los orígenes de esta oración se basan en los primeros tiempos donde las personas se reúnen para cantar, rezar los salmos, escuchar las escrituras, orar por la Iglesia y rezar el Padre Nuestro. Esta oración es universal en el sentido de que se reza en toda la Iglesia a través de todo el mundo, todos los días.

Oracion Vespertina (Oración de la Tarde) Durante la temporada de Adviento estamos invitando a todos los feligreses a
participar en la Oración Vespertina (Oración de la Tarde) el sábado a partir
de las 6:30 p.m. antes de la Misa de las 7:00 p.m. Misa en español.
La Oración Vespertina es parte de la Liturgia de las Horas, una de las ora-
ciones litúrgicas de la iglesia. Los orígenes de esta oración se basan en los primeros tiempos donde las personas se reúnen para cantar, rezar los salmos, escuchar las escrituras, orar por la Iglesia y rezar el Padre Nuestro. Esta oración es universal en el sentido de que se reza en toda la Iglesia a través de todo el mundo, todos los días.
Aquí en San José tendrémos la oportunidad de orar con la Iglesia en general en esta maravillosa y antigua oración de la Iglesia. Por favor, ven y únete a rezar con nosotros los cuatro sábados de Adviento. El primer sábado es el 2 de diciembre de 2018 a las 6:30 p.m.
