InvitationAble Australia is honoured to be hosting the 17th Deafblind

International World Conference on the 12–16 August 2019

at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, 158 Ferny

Avenue, Surfers Paradise, Queensland.

Deafblindness is a unique and isolating sensory disability

resulting from a combination of both a hearing and vision

loss or impairment, which significantly affects communication,

socialisation, mobility and daily living.

Able Australia is a Not-for-Profit organisation formed in 1967 that has unique expertise

in supporting people with deafblindness and multiple disabilities throughout Australia.

The conference theme is Sharing the knowledge to ACT: Accessibility.

Communication. Technology. “Now is your time to ACT!”. In keeping with

this theme, we aim to showcase research, experiences and best practices that

are shaping the world for those who are deafblind. This conference is not only

for academics and professionals working in the field of deafblindness, but also

professional interpreters and communication guides, people who are deafblind,

together with families of people with both acquired and congenital deafblindness.

We are inviting you to become a conference sponsor and take this opportunity to

showcase your organization to some 70 international and national guest speakers and

300 delegates from the deafblind community across over 30 countries.

I hope you take the opportunity to be part of this very special event.

Who will be there? The 17th Deafblind International World Conference 2019 will attract academics and professionals working in the field of deafblindness, but also professional interpreters and communication guides, people who are deafblind, together with families of people with both acquired and congenital deafblindness.

We anticipate 70 international and national guest speakers at the event and 300 delegates from the deafblind community across over 30 countries.

Why sponsor or exhibit?Sponsorship of this conference will enable your organisation to connect personally with conference attendees, and to showcase products and technology in a dynamic, fun and interactive environment.

Thanks to the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia, many people with deafblindness, and their families/carers, now have unprecedented access to funding, enabling them to access/purchase technology, transport, accommodation and personal supports to improve their lives. Internationally, people with deafblindness from both developed and developing countries are embracing cutting edge new technologies and products.
