OVERVIEW

TheINSPIREDirectivehasbeenputinplacetocreateaEuropeanspatialdatainfrastructureforthepurposesofEUenvironmentalpoliciesaswellaspoliciesoractivitieswhichmayhaveanimpactontheenvironment.Byhavingadigitalinfrastructure,theINSPIREDirectivefacilitatesaccessanduseofvery wide scope of digital spatial data. The applicability of such spatial data goes far beyondenvironmentalpolicies.Therefore,INSPIREstretchesintovariousactivitiesrelatedtoe-Government,transport,navigation,regionaldevelopment,energy,health,safety&securityande-Commerce.ThisbroadfieldofapplicationmakestheINSPIREDirectiveoneoftheenablersoftheEUdigitalsociety.

The annual European INSPIRE Conferences significantly contribute to the implementation of theINSPIREDirectiveandofferaplatformforpublicandprivatestakeholderstomeetandtodiscusstheprogress reached in the past months and years, to examine the possibilities for accelerating thefurther implementation and to exchangeonnewopportunities and challenges that arise from theimplementation.

TheINSPIREConference2017willtakeplaceinKehl(Germany)andStrasbourg(France)from4thto8thSeptember2017.ItisjointlyorganizedbytheGermanMinistryoftheInterior,theFrenchMinistryof Environment, Energy and Marine Affairs in partnership with the European Commission. It isfurther supported by the Government of the Federal State Baden-Württemberg and the RegionalCouncilofGrand-Est.

Thisyear’sconferencewiththetitle“INSPIREaDigitalEurope:Thinkingoutofthebox”willfocuson4topics

Itwillcoverwiderapplicationareassuchase-Governmentandfurtherapplicationareasofgeospatialinformation and technologies. It will give a strong impetus for further building of the EuropeanSpatial Data Infrastructure and its use beyond environmental applications. Furthermore, it willdemonstrateinnovativesolutionsinthefieldofEuropeanenvironmentalpolicy,digitalizationofthesociety and regional cohesion, thus giving incentives for strengthening the cross-sector and cross-bordercooperationamongallstakeholdersactiveatEuropean,national,regionalandlocallevel.

AttheINSPIREConference2017around1.000participantsareexpectedfromallEUMemberStatesandsomenon-EUMemberStates.Theconferencewillofferworkshops,plenaries,thematicsessions,apostersession,acommercialexhibitionandsocialevents.ThefirstpartoftheconferencewilltakeplaceattheUniversityofAppliedSciences inKehl(4thand5thSeptember2017).TheUniversitywillhost theworkshops, the firstnetworkingeventand the IceBreakParty (4th September2017). Theplenaries,thematicsessions,commercialexhibition,postersessionandnetworkingdinnerwillfollowfrom 6th to 8th September 2017 at the Strasbourg Convention & Exhibition Centre (ConventionCentre).TheTechnicalandCooperationPartnersExhibitionwilltakeplaceintheSchweitzerGalleryoftheConventionCentre.

Themaximumauthorisedloadontheflooris500kgperm².

Themaximumheightisdependentonthelocationoftheexhibitandshouldnotinanycaseexceed2.5m.

If theexhibitor’sstand intendstobeover2.5m inheight, theexhibitorwillneedtosubmitaplanand certification of all the materials to be used so that authorisation can be obtained from theStrasbourgConvention&ExhibitionCentre(ConventionCentre).

Standsecurity

TheConventionCentrerecommendsthatthestandisnot leftunattendedduringtheassemblyandtheinstallationdismantled.

Cleaningofthestands

ThegeneralcleaningofthetradefairaislesandequippedstandsinstalledbyStrasbourg-Evénements(carpet vacuuming) will be carried out every morning by the Convention Centre. The cleaning ofcustomisedstandsshouldbeorderedseparately.

Insurance

It is the responsibilityofeachexhibitor to takeout theirownadditional insurance that they judgenecessary.

NeithertheorganisersoftheINSPIREConference2017northeStrasbourgConvention&ExhibitionCentrecanbeheldresponsibleforanytheftsordamagetothepersonalbelongingsoftheexhibitorsduringvisitinghoursorduringtheinstallationanddismantlingofthestands.

Safetyregulations

The exhibitors are obliged to strictly complywith the provisions of the safety regulations and anyregulationsspecifictotheevent.

Parking

Afterunloadingtheirequipment,theexhibitorsareaskedtoparkinthecarpark(free)infrontoftheConventioncentre.

Parking in the technical grounds of the Convention centre is strictly prohibited, except duringunloading.
