EDINBURGH POVERTY COMMISSION is working to define the steps the city needs to make to reduce, mitigate, and prevent poverty in Edinburgh. In the third phase of our work, up to 15 December, we want to focus on the theme of ‘Place’ – asking what can be done to make sure people on low incomes live in well-designed, affordable, and sustainable places. We are asking for your help once again, we want to hear from individuals and organisations across the city who have experience of living with or supporting people facing these issues. We want to hear your thoughts on the causes of poverty in Edinburgh. There are extremes of inequality with people in poverty living in all areas of the city and some of the most disadvantaged families living side by side with some of Scotland’s most affluent communities. We have our ‘Places’ call for evidence with four questions to which we are seeking responses. Our ask to you is to give us your thoughts and responses to these questions, either using the form attached or by visiting our consultation pages at https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/bi/edinburgh-poverty-commission-phase-three-places/ We are also asking you to circulate this call for evidence to any networks and contacts you think may be interested in responding. Any responses you could provide by 15 December would be very much appreciated. Contact [email protected]
