SALITA DI CAPO BERTA E DI CIPRESSAÈ fatto assoluto divieto a tutte le vetture di fermarsi lungo le salite di Capo Berta e di Cipressa. La Polizia Stradale e i responsabili dell’organizzazione hanno l’ordine di bloccare tutte le vetture che contravvenissero a questa disposizione e di disporle in coda alla corsa, fino al traguardo.

DA CAPO VERDE AL POGGIO DI SANREMOTutte le vetture (ad eccezione di quelle del direttore d’organizzazione e dell’organizzazione, giuria, squadre e tecnici della televisione) dopo Capo Verde (km 287,6) dovranno proseguire diritto per Sanremo, senza cioè percorrere la salita del Poggio. Al bivio per il Poggio (km 288,1) sarà istituito un posto di smistamento per le vetture della stampa e delle squadre.

CORRIDORI RITIRATII corridori che al bivio per il Poggio di Sanremo (km 288,1) si dichiareranno “ritirati” potranno proseguire sulla Strada Aurelia a mare, ma in prossimità dell’innesto della Via Aurelia con la strada in discesa dal Poggio (a circa 3 km dall’arrivo) saranno bloccati allo Stadio dalla giuria, per il ritiro dei numeri di corsa, fino all’avvenuto passaggio dell’ultimo concorrente in corsa.

CURVE IMPEGNATIVE IN DISCESADa Capo Berta ad Oneglia (km 258-261) - Cipressa (km 275,9) - Poggio di Sanremo (km 291,8).

DISCESE IMPEGNATIVE In discesa è tassativamente vietato superare i corridori. Le vetture dovranno avvantaggiarsi in modo di precedere di gran lunga i corridori nella discesa di Capo Berta che termina imboccando la strettoia di Oneglia e per la discesa di Cipressa.

GALLERIEDue tra Albisola e Savona (km 180,8 - 183,8); una a Spotorno (km 196,8); una ad Arma di Taggia (km 284,8).

DIVIETO DI SORPASSODall’inizio di Capo Berta (39 km all’arrivo) è vietato agli automezzi ufficiali il sorpasso di qualsiasi corridore. Gli inadempienti saranno bloccati dalla Polizia Stradale.

CAPO BERTA AND CIPRESSA UPHILL CLIMBSParking along the slopes of Capo Berta and Cipressa is strictly prohibited. Traffic Police as well as the persons in charge for the organization have been instructed to stop all vehicles which should contravene such rule and to have them line up at the tail end of the race, following the same until the finishing line.

FROM CAPO VERDE TO THE SANREMO POGGIOAfter the passing of Capo Verde (km 287.6), all vehicles (being made exception for the ones assigned to the organization, the organization manager, the Jury, the teams and the TV crew) will have to proceed directly towards Sanremo, i.e. without driving up the Poggio slope. At the intersection towards the Poggio (km 288.1) a road block will be set up for the sorting of press and teams’ vehicles.

WITHDRAWAL FROM THE RACEThe racers who should declare their “withdrawal” at the Poggio di Sanremo intersection (km 288.1), will be able to proceed along the Strada Aurelia towards Sanremo, but in the vicinity of the junction of Via Aurelia with the road coming down from the Poggio (at approximately 3 km from the finish) they will be stopped at the Stadium where the Jury’s Commissaires will collect their race number and bicycle tag, and thus until the last competitor of the race has passed.

DIFFICULT BENDS IN DESCENTFrom Capo Berta to Oneglia (km 258-261) - Cipressa (km 275.9) - Poggio di Sanremo (km 291.8).

DIFFICULT DESCENTS Overtaking of racers during the descent is strictly prohibited. Vehicles should take time advantage in order

to largely precede the cyclists during the descent from Capo Berta which ends when entering into the Oneglia’s narrowed road, and during the Cipressa descent.

TUNNELSThere are two tunnels between Albisola and Savona (km 180.8 - 183.8); one in Spotorno (km 196.8); and one in Arma di Taggia (km 284.8).

NO OVERTAKINGFrom the beginning of Capo Berta onward (39 km from finish) official vehicles are strictly prohibited to overtake any racer. Defaulting parties will be stopped by the Traffic Police.

A 10 km dall’arrivo inizia la salita del Poggio di Sanremo (3,7 km a meno del 4% di media con punte dell’8% nel tratto che precede lo scollinamento). La salita presenta una carreggiata leggermente ristretta e 4 tornanti nei primi 2 km. La discesa è molto tecnica su strada asfaltata, ristretta in alcuni passaggi, con un susseguirsi di tornanti, di curve e controcurve fino all’immissione nella statale Aurelia. L’ultima parte della discesa si svolge nell’abitato di Sanremo. Ultimi 2,5 km su lunghi rettilinei cittadini. Da segnalare a 1,5 km dall’arrivo una curva a sinistra su rotatoria e ai 500 m dall’arrivo una breve doppia curva che immette sul rettilineo finale, tutto su fondo in asfalto.

The Poggio di Sanremo’s uphill climb starts 10 kilometers before the finish line (3,7 km with an average gradient inferior to 4% and peaks reaching 8% in the segment preceding the cresting of the hill). The ascent presents a slightly narrowed roadway and four U-bends in the course of the 2 first kilometers. The descent appears extremely technical and takes place on asphalted and sometimes narrowed road bed, in a succession of U-bends and twists and turns, up to the junction with the Aurelia State Road. The final part of the descent runs across the Sanremo’s township. Last 2.5 km along straight urban roads. Worth to be noted at 1.5 km from the finish are one curve to the left on a roundabout, and at 500 m from the finish a short double bend introducing the home stretch, on straight and fully asphalted road.

Article 2 - ParticipationThe race takes place only by invitation directed to Sporting Groups consisting of a maximum of eight riders and a minimum of fi ve, and the points assignation fully complies with the current regulation. The Organizing Society, to the purpose of safeguarding the image and reputability of its race, reserves the right, even if the invitation has already been issued, to refuse - up to the departure time - the riders or the Sporting Groups which by their acts or declarations would prove to neglect the principles of ethical fair play. Moreover, in the event that the riders or the Sporting Group would fail, during the race, in complying with the principles set out in the foregoing paragraph, the Organizing Society shall also reserve the right to exclude them from the race at any time

Article 3 - Type of raceThe race is reserved to cyclists belonging to the Men Elite Category and is recorded in the World Tour. Article 7 - Time LimitRacers with a gap higher than 5% of the winner’s time will be considered as out of time limit. The time limit can be increased by the Jury of Commissaires in case of exceptional circumstances and after consulting with the Organizing Society.

Article 10 - Antidoping controlThe UCI anti doping regulation fully applies.The medical checkup will take place upon arrival at the provided for mobile clinic.

Article 11 - Awards ceremonyThe fi rst three riders in the arrival place list are requested to attend the awards ceremony ten minutes after their arrival. The race’s winner shall present himself in the Press Room.

Article 12 - General provisionsOnly persons registered upon collection of the identifi cation tag by the owner of the relevant motor vehicle, are entitled to follow the race. Possible changes or additions shall be notifi ed to the Organization Manager. Drivers of duly identifi ed cars and motorbikes shall comply with the provisions set forth by the Rules of the Road and shall furthermore comply with the rules set out by the Organization Manager and his staff. Persons who are not recognized as having roles acknowledged by the Organizing Society and services related functions as well as under-age persons, are not allowed to follow the race. The Organization shall not be liable in anyway whatsoever for damages deriving from accidents occurred prior, during or after the race, to spectators and persons generally speaking, even if unrelated with the race, in consequence of actions not ascribable to the same organization. For all that is not provided for under this ruling, the UCI Regulations shall apply.
