New Monday Night Bible Study begins May 9. Half Truths: God Helps Those who Help Themselves and Other Things the Bible Doesn’t Say by Adam Hamilton. This 6-week study includes

a video and searches for the Whole Truth by comparing common Christian Cliches. They sound Christian—like something you might find in the Bible. We’ve all heard these words. Maybe we’ve said them. They capture some element of truth yet they miss the point in important ways. Other phrases to be explored are “everything happens for a reason; God won’t give you more than you can handle; God said it, I believe it, that settles it; and, love the sinner, hate the sin.” You are invited to join us at 6:30 on Monday nights starting May 9. Call Helen Edens (892-2982) if you would like to participate. The study book cost $13.39.

LICS URGENT FOOD REQUEST! If you can help, please place these items in the boxes provided in the church narthex and in the entrance to the Family Life Center. Most needed items: canned chili, spaghetti sauce, canned beef stew, jelly, canned fruit, pork & beans, canned corn, canned tomatoes, sweet peas, mashed potatoes, ramen noodles, and corn muffin mix. Thank you for caring for others.

We have a job position available for a Youth Ministries Director. This is a part-time position for an individual or couple. If you like working with youth, please send your resume’ to Beulah UMC, 161 Beulah Church Road, Gilbert SC 29054 or email [email protected]. A job description is posted on the church’s web site at http://www.beulahunitedmethodistchurch.org/job-openings.html. DON’T FORGET YOUR MOTHERS OR EPWORTH CHILDREN’S HOME NEXT SUNDAY!! Most of the more than 75 children at Epworth Children’s Home will not be celebrating Mother’s Day with their mothers. Instead they will be surrounded by loving staff and volunteers who walk with them daily to provide spiritual, educational, emotional and physical support. Faithful Methodists have invested in comprehensive care for every child who calls Epworth home. Epworth does not receive money from our apportionments. This offering is our opportunity to support this vital ministry. As you consider what God is calling you to give, remember Christ’s command to let the little children come to him. Epworth is answering this call to let the little children come. Salkehatchie Camp for teens (at least 14 years of age) and adults is July 9-16 at Fairfield(Winnsboro) Camp. The cost is $100. Contact William Thompson ([email protected]) 803-429-9604 or Chuck Knight (803- 331-7899) if interested.
