13   "If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your hands to him in prayer!  14   Get rid of your sins and leave all iniquity behind you.  15   Then your face will brighten in

innocence. You will be strong and free of fear.  16   You will forget your misery. It will all be gone like water under the

bridge.  17   Your life will be brighter than the noonday. Any darkness will be as bright as morning.  18   You will have

courage because you will have hope. You will be protected and will rest in safety.  19   You will lie down unafraid, and

many will look to you for help. Job 11:13-19

EXPRESSIVEeffectively conveying thought or feeling.

Yadah (Yaw-daw')

• To extend the hands, like shooting an arrow or throwing a rock

I will sacrifice a free will offering to you;I will praise your name, LORD, for it is good.Ps 54:6

towdah (to-daw')

• To show agreement with by extending the right hand. It’s like you are shaking hands with God.

In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? I am under vows to you, O God; I will present my thank offerings to you. Ps 56:11,12

barak (baw-rak')

• To bow down as sign of adoration and reverence.A humbling of oneself as it’s one of the most physically “uncomfortable” expression to have a person do.

So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.Ps 63:4

TEHILLAH (TEL-HIL-LAW‘)

• This type of praise is singing but not just any type of singing. It’s the singing that bubbles up from our hearts.A spontaneous, unrehearsed and unprepared kind of song.

From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you I will fulfill my vows.Ps 22:25

zamar (zaw-mar')

• To celebrate in song and music. From clapping,to singing and even playing instrumental music.

Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him--his name is the LORD.

Ps 68:4

shabach (shaw-bakh')

• To address in a loud tone. It’s typically associated with freedom or triumph. It’s more than just a loud shout,it’s putting everything you have into it. An attitude of wholehearted praise.

One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.Ps 145:4

halal (haw-lal')

• This might be one of the most “fun” forms of praise because it means to be clamorously foolish. You boast and shine through dancing, twirling, laughing and leaping before the Lord.

I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly I will praise you.Ps 22:22

proskuneo (pros-koo-neh’-o)

• To prostrate oneself in homage. But the deeper meaning is like a dog licking his master’s hand.

"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24"God is

spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." Jn 4:23.24
