Teachers along with their academic coordinators and the vice principal welcomed the students to their new classes. Each child was handed a goodie bag along with a welcome card by his/ her teacher. Children were excited to be back after the summer break and were enthusiastic about to start the new session.

Welcome party for the new college students was arranged by the students of 2nd year at BTSC Girls Campus, Lahore. The aroma of food and colours was all around. It was such a wonderful start for the fall, 2017. Students came enthusiastically to attend the exciting party that had been arranged for them. The event started with blistering performances of senior students which was followed by mesmerizing and exhilarating performances by the new students. Short comedy skits were also prepared by the second year students. The crowd roared and enjoyed every minute of it.

This year, the management welcomed children at Junior Campus sector B in a different way, by holding a “Back to School Ice Cream Social”. The event was held on August 18, 2017. It was the perfect time of the year when children started school again after hot summer holidays. Ice cream bars were set up beautifully. The school was decorated with ice cream cones made of paper, fabric and balloons. It gave every child a chance to get to know each other and develop a bond with their teachers.

iNDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATiON

On August 14th, Pakistanis commemorate the success of their struggle for an independent state. 14th August is certainly a time for every Pakistani to review a rich and dynamic PAKISTAN. Similarly, students at BTSC celebrated the Independence Day with the nationalistic passion. The theme of the morning assemblies at all the Campuses of Bahria Town School for the entire week circled around the Freedom of Pakistan and the leaders who made it possible. Students at all the Campuses highlighted the achievements of the significant personalities who dreamt of having a separate land and worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality such as Quaid e Azam , Fatima Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.

An environment of patriot passion is generated in the whole country on Defense Day. People exhibit their passion and celebrate their unity as a nation. A seminar on Defense Day by the Junior Campus Sector B was held in the auditorium on Friday 8th September, 2017. Similarly the students of the Senior Campus sector B dedicated 6th September’s Morning Assembly to all those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of this glorious nation. The students of middle and senior sections of Sector C also paid tribute to the martyrs by delivering very blood-

warming speeches in the Morning Assembly. At the end the principal Mr. Saleem Kashmiri delivered heart-warming speech. He told the students the background of Pak-India war of 1965 and how our army defeated India with the help of the zealous public and patriotic songs. The same zeal and enthusiasm were to be seen at Orchard Campus and Girls College on the 6th of September. Students enthusiastically participated in Defense Day activities and showed their love and respect for Pakistan’s armed forces.

A welcoming event was arranged for grades I and II that helped in introducing them to the new learning environment and relieving their anxiety at the start of the new academic session. It provided an opportunity to the parents to interact with the teachers and get familiar with the school ambiance. Teachers also got a chance to share students’ special needs and discussed how parents and the school body can work together in order to improve the individual personality of each child. We believe that the secret of learning lies in the strong bond developed between the students, teachers and the parents and that’s how we begin the year with Meet and Greet.

In this fast paced world where most of the attention is captured by media, it’s not wrong to say that our new generation learns a lot by watching their favorite cartoons. Keeping that in mind Preschool arranged a cartoon festival where children were supposed to dress up as their favorite cartoon characters. The rationale behind the event was to teach good values and morals to the students that they should embody in their personalities and telling them the difference between right and wrong. The learning and fun experience was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.

To give a hands on experience to the students the management of Junior Campus organized an educational trip for the students. The students of grade three to five visited the Safari Zoo.Visiting the zoo offered many learning opportunities. While having a fun day exploring, kids developed valuable skills and obtained priceless knowledge. As the students walked around, the teachers labelled every animal and asked questions about them. The students got first hand knowledge of how differently animals live, behave and interact with each other. The day ended with students sharing their experiences in black and white on a worksheet specially designed on the topic, “Animal World”.

MEET AND GREET

ShARE AND CARE

Teaching regarding Eid-ul-Azha demands all of us not to forget the true essence of Islam and to make our children learn the true spirit of this sacred occasion. We at BTSC celebrated Eid- ul-Azha in our own way. In the spirit of Eid ‘The Social Welfare Club’ head by Ms Rakea in collaboration with the students conducted the activity called ‘share & care’ whose purpose was to ignite the spirit of empathy and sacrifice among the students. Students were encouraged to collect articles that would help the less privileged to be able to enjoy and celebrate this Eid like we all do. These gifts were taken to an Orphanage called ‘Gehwara’ in Township Lahore on the 31st of August. Our students distributed the packages among the children and it was quite evident from the smiles on their faces how happy and grateful they were and this is the true essence of Eid-ul-Azha.The same spirit and celebrations of Eid ul Azha were to be seen at Pre School Sector A as well. The students enjoyed a wonderful “Eid Millan Party” specially arranged for them by the management.
