4. Build brickwork and solid blockwork tight into webs of steelbeams at their points of bearing.

5. Do not build brickwork or blockwork on suspended concreteuntil all shoring has been removed.

6. Chases and recess grooves in load-bearing masonry wallsshall not be made without Engineer's approval.

7. In reinforced grouted blockwork take care to correctly andsecurely set out starter bars. Do not cut, heat or bend out ofposition starter bars without approval from the Engineer.Provide clean-out holes at the bottom of all cores. Rod allcore holes to remove protruding mortar fins. Tie vertical barsto starter bars or lapped bars through clean-out holes. Laphorizontal bars at intersecting walls and corners. Grout allcores with grout having F'c = 20MPa, 10mm aggregate and200 slump. Compact cores grout by vibrating or rodding.

8. Grouting of blockwork to take place one floor at a time. Donot exceed 3m in a single lift. Provide clean out blocks at thebase of all lifts, and at all locations where verticalreinforcement is lapped.

9. Provide laps in all reinforced grouted blockwork only atlocations shown on details and of dimensions as followsunless detailed otherwise or approved in writing by theEngineer.

1. TLB Engineers has assessed the health and safety risksrelated to the structural design. TLB Engineers has a carriedout a safe design risk assessment and has identifiedhazards considered to be atypical and / or unique for thisproject.

2. TLB Engineers may have identified hazards in each of thefollowing stages in the lifecycle of the structure and whereappropriate may have provided recommendations tomitigate the residual risks:-

2.1. Design for Use - Any Use hazards identified are taggedon the drawings as UH#

2.2. Design for Construction - Any Construction hazardsidentified are tagged on the drawings as CH#

2.3. Design for Maintenance - Any Maintenance hazardsidentified are tagged on the drawings as MH#

2.4. Design for Demolition - Any Demolition hazardsidentified are tagged on the drawings as DH#

3. The hazards identified by TLB Engineers are not exhaustive,do not relieve any other party from undertaking their ownsafety in design review, and do not relieve any other party oftheir obligations and responsibilities under the Work Healthand Safety Act.

CH# - Design for Construction1. Provide drainage system and water proof membrane (by

others) for all planter areas.

2. Do not fill slab with soil (300mm deep max) before allstructural elements have been constructed.

3. Flashing and weep holes are to be constructed (by others) inbrick walls to prevent water ingress.

4. Pool is to be designed as out of ground suspended pool onpiers as no water surcharge loads have been allowed in thebasement wall/ retaining wall design.

MH# - Design for Maintenance1. Check for blockages in pipes on roof.2. Clean spoon drain regularly.

DH# - Design for Demolition1. Demolish the building from roof level down.

2. Demolish floor elements (i.e. slabs) before supporting

elements (i.e. columns)

3. Remove soils and planters (including retaining soils) beforedemolishing structural elements.
