    circuits as re:uired during antiloc6 bra6ing. During theantiloc6 /ode, the ;P3J can /aintain or reduce bra6e 5luid

     4ressure inde4endent o5 the 4ressure generated in the /aster

    cylinder. The ;P3J does not 4rovide /ore 4ressure than isa44lied by the /aster cylinder during bra6ing. The

    ;TC3;P3J asse/bly can a44ly the rear bra6es during

    traction control /ode.With the e-ce4tion o5 the ;C3;TC3, the ;ra6e

    Pressure 3odulator Jalve &;P3J) is an integral, non*

    serviceable co/4onent. The ;P3J should never bedisasse/bled.

    The ;ra6e Pressure 3odulator Jalve &;P3J) uses a5our circuit con5iguration during nor/al bra6ing. Individual

    circuits are 4rovided 5or the le5t 5ront and right rear heels,and right 5ront and le5t rear heels. The diagonal circuitsare hydraulically isolated so that a lea6 or /al5unction in

    one circuit ill allo continued bra6ing ability on the

    The ;ra6e Pressure 3odulator Jalve &;P3J) also

    contains a s/all 4u/4 hich circulates bra6e 5luid bac6 to

    the /aster cylinder circuit during the antiloc6 /ode. The 4u/4 is located in the ;ra6e Pressure 3odulator Jalve and

    cannot be serviced se4arately.

    Solenoid Vales

    The solenoid valves o5 the /odulator are an integral

     4ortion o5 the ;ra6e Pressure 3odulator Jalve &;P3J)and are not serviceable. The solenoid valves increase,

    decrease or /aintain bra6e 5luid 4ressure to the individual

    heel circuits. The solenoid valves are controlled by the;C3;TC3, hich co//ands the valves to their

    correct 4osition during antiloc6 bra6ing. During nor/al

     bra6ing, the valves are 4ositioned to 4ressure increase, orG>4en.H ;ra6ing is acco/4lished as a nor/al 4oer assist

    syste/. During A;$ or TC$ /ode, the 4ressure in each

    hydraulic circuit can be increased, decreased or heldconstant by changing the valve 4ositions to various

    co/binations.
