Fair Ambassador Message Who knew fairs could open the doors to meet so many newpeople, enjoy new experiences, develop your skills, and have funall at once! It took becoming the Brooke-Alvinston and WatfordFall Fair Ambassador of 2016/2017 for me to realize how manyopportunities were right here, in my own community at our annualFall Fair. I had been attending our Fall Fair for 20 years beforebeing crowned Ambassador. The countless work and effort put into the Brooke-Alvinston &Watford Fall Fair is absolutely inspiring, surprising and is whatkeeps our community as united as it is. Just at our annual PieAuction, alone, our small community raised the amount of $20,845 all for the Children`s Hospital of London, Ontario. I feelhonoured to have been a valuable contribution to so manycreative, fun, and agricultural aspects of our 140th Fall Fair lastSept/Oct. This past year has honestly been an experience of alifetime. Endless opportunities come along with being anAmbassador and I encourage anyone to give it a try! While being Ambassador this year, I was able to attend muchmore than just our own community’s fair and expand my horizons.I was able to represent and promote our fair within our localelementary schools, at other local fairs around Lambton Countyand a few parades, the OAAS Convention in Toronto, and eventhe Canadian National Exhibition! I gained numerous skillsincluding public speaking, networking, presenting myself withconfidence, interview skills along with much more. The people Ihave met this year and the knowledge/skills I have attained willalways be a valuable asset to me in my personal life as well as myprofessional career moving forward.
