THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL COBLESKILL, NY

Thanksgiving Cards for Veterans

Each year parishioners send Thanksgiving Day cards to vets at the Veteran’s Hospital in Albany - if you would like to take part, please sign only your first name in your card(s), do not seal the envelope, and leave them in the basket by the entrance to church by Sunday, November 10th. Kathy Kosier from the Christian Service committee will send them all to the Hospital together. This is a great way to express your thanks to those who have served our country. ______________________________________________________

Christmas Boutique

The Boutique/Raffle Letter has been mailed out to those who were

not able to pick theirs up after church in the previous few weeks.

We encourage all of you to review the contents and help us to sell

as many tickets as possible, as this is a major fund-raiser for St.

Vincent’s. Return the tickets and money prior to Nov. 23 by

dropping them off at the church office, or by putting them into the

collection basket, clearly marked with “Raffle” on the outside of

the envelope, and we will put them into the correct buckets for you.

Or, you can bring them to the Boutique on November 23 and drop

them in yourself! Extra tickets can be found at the back of the

church or obtained from the office.

When the crowds came to Jesus, he did not turn them away but fed those who were hungry. In our prayers, let us be mindful of all victims of crime and particularly those who have suffered sexual abuse. For those whose lives are affected by the enduring and painful

memory of sexual abuse and physical violence: May their families, friends and supporters renew their trust

and security in loving relationships. May all members of the Church be instruments of healing.

For the children of our land: . May all families, institutions, and social settings

work together to ensure the happiness of every child and create an environment of safety and protection

where children may flourish.

For the Catholic Church, especially for our bishops and leaders of religious congregations and institutes: may their words

and gestures acknowledge repentance for past failures in responding to child sexual abuse and

bring comfort and reconciliation to victims.
