    CONCLUSION

Agriculture in India is synonymous with food grains

    production.

present statistics of agriculture in India indicate that

agricultural productivity still ranks low in

    comparison to other countries.

o Biggest challenge to food security has been posed by

the global warming and the resultant climate change.

o Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) have

indicated the possibility of around 4 to 5 million tonnes

loss in the countrys overall annual wheat production

with every rise of 1 degree Celsius in temperature.

India economic growth is growing ,and the number of

hungry people increased by over 20 million to reach 231

million in India (report by Committee on World Food

    Security, FAO, September 2008).

An estimated increase of 105 million hungry

people in 2009, there are now 1.02 billion

malnourished people in the world, meaning that

almost one sixth of all humanity is suffering from

    hunger absence of food security.
