June Tips of the Month - Living a merciful life. Dear brothers and sisters, In this Jubilee Year of Mercy - to continue expanding on the ideas of living our lives according to the 14 Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, we would like to offer you a few practical tips on how to live the 5th Corporal Works of Mercy: Visit the sick. This is a reminder to make time to visit our homebound or elderly relatives, friends or acquaintances. In case you cannot visit, let them know that you care - by doing some of the ideas below:

- Make a phone call to bring news from friends or communities - Send an "Adoration Bouquet" Card (available free at church) to let them know you had prayed for them before the Holy Eucharist - Send a cheerful card - Send a concerned text message - Write a loving FaceBook posting - Send a plate of their favorite dish - Send some flowers or fruits from your garden

For those of us that do have some spare times, we invite you to volunteer your time with "Ministry for the Sick and Homebound" at St Lucy. With this ministry, you will have the opportunity to show compassion to those in our par-ish that you may not know by simply: Being there, listening and above all - bringing the Body of Christ to those who cannot come to Him. Another chance to live a life of mercy is to volunteer with "Meals for the Sick" Minis-try. With this ministry, you could show compassion to a homebound parishioner by cooking a simple meal for him or her. In Christ, Worship Commission

In the rush of today’s world the luxury of sitting and pondering a question, a thought or a puzzle is very difficult. We have been trained to receive information with a click of a button, to send messages or communicate by “skype” with people around the world instantly and to be on call with the beep of a text message 24/7. The thought of taking time, thinking about and then rest-ing on the idea for a few days can seem strange in the modern world.

Yet, that is what our faith and spiritual life calls us to do in the greater questions of life: to not rush to judgment, to not seek the quick and flippant response, to not simply move on to the next

thing because we didn't find an easy answer.

I have asked you to consider a good spiritual book to place on your reading list this summer. In Matthew Kelly’s Rediscover Jesus chapters 4 and 5 are the pondering chapters. These are the two big questions that must be answered by every Christian over and over again as we seek to follow Jesus. These are questions about Jesus, where in quiet restfulness, we take time to allow the voice of God to settle into the silence of our hearts and speak the words of love.

At the end of Chapter 4 we are offered this prayer, “Jesus, teach me to never stop seeking you. Help me to seek you in every relationship, place, and situation.” (p 31) Let us pray this in the weeks to come.

Este es un recordatorio para visitar a nuestros familiares, amigos o conocidos que no pueden salir de sus casas. En caso de que no pueda visitarlos, hágalos saber que los quiere haciendo algunas de las siguientes cosas:

- Llámelo por teléfono con noticias de amigos - Envíele una tarjeta de "Adoración” (disponible gratuitamente en la iglesia) para hacerles saber que ora por el ante la Santa Eucaristía - Envíele una tarjeta alegre - Envíele un texto - Escriba un post FaceBook - Envíele un platillo de su comida favorita - Envíele flores o frutas de su jardín

St. Lucy’s Church is offering tutoring and assistance to stu-dents of elementary school, who are struggling in reading and writing, from July 25 to August 11, 2016.

If you are interested in this program, please fill an application and turn it at the Parish office. Fee for the program is $20.00
