Project Description

The 36,000 residents of the remote communities in the Andes mountains outside of Quito have little access to clean water. Only 12% of the families have access to potable water. The major source of water for drinking, cooking and washing is rivers and streams. Raw water is plentiful; clean water is not.

To facilitate disease prevention and access to clean water by installing a water purification system for 10 small towns in Pinchincha province in Northwest Ecuador

Located in the Andes Mountains, Pichincha is a province of Ecuador located in the northern sierra region. Although this region is mostly rural and difficult to access, its capital and largest city is Quito with a population of 2.4 million people.

The project can be completed in 120 days from the time the funds are received by the host club.

The project is “Fully Pledged” meaning, the amount of the pledges is equal to the total budget of the project.

Each day almost 10,000 children under the age of 5 in Third World countries die as a result of illness contracted by use of

impure water. This project will make a difference!
