DURO have developed a fully modular point of sale system that can cater for all product types. These units can be free standing, wall mounted or part of a tool wall system - offering the distributor a full list of options.

DURO can supply the following in-store support items:

• product range cards • product posters • individual product cards, • application charts • literature • product videos

.....and much more to further enhance the appearance of our merchandising units, and more importantly provide the customer with more detailed and informative product, application and performance recommendations.

DURO also offer tool bar / slat wall components that enable distributors to utilise available in store space with as much product as possible. Angled hooks for blades, modular unit hanging shelves & more options are available.

abrasives terminologybonded abrasives - coated abrasives

• Bonded abrasive wheels are manufactured by bonding thousands of abrasive grains together to form a single cutting tool.

• The abrasive wheel begins to cut and grind material away when it comes in contact with the target surface.

• As it grinds and cuts, the material being worked on fractures the surface of the grains and wears the bond exposing fresh grains in the process.

• The wheel is slowly worn away as more and more grains are exposed and then released during the cutting process.

• Coated abrasives are products that have a solid backing with a single layer of abrasive grain bonded to its surface.

• The grain starts to cut and grind the target material when it comes in contact with it.

• The grains fracture during the cutting process to form new cutting points. This extends the life of the abrasive.

• Eventually the grains will be fractured to the point where they are no longer exposed above the bond - at this point they can no longer effectively cut and grind and the abrasive needs replacing.

BOnded abrasives coated abrasives

types of abrasive grain used in duro abrasivesAluminium Oxide - Grain that is tough and durable. Used in bonded abrasives for - cutting, grinding and finishing of metal Used in coated abrasives for - cutting, grinding and finishing metal, wood and coatings

Zirconia - Grain that is tough and durable with a fine crystal structure Used in bonded abrasives for - rugged stock removal of metal Used in coated abrasives for - rugged stock removal of metal and wood

Silicon Carbide - Grain that is very hard and brittle Used in bonded abrasives for - cutting, grinding and finishing of concrete and very hard / very soft metals Used in coated abrasives for - very fine finishing of metals and coatings

diamond blade terminologycut through industry terminology -

specify the correct blade to match your application

narrow gullets continuous turbo rim cooling holes

conical segments 30 degree gullets key hole gullets

turbo segmented deep draft segments wide gullets

inclined wedge segment reinforced flange

If a diamond blade has narrow gullets there will be less chipping of material and a slight reduction

in vibration.

If a diamond blade has a continuous turbo rim then there will be less chipping than with segmented

blades and faster cutting due to the castellation of the rim. This clears debris quicker and keeps the blade

cool by trapping air in motion.

Cooling holes in a blade as the description says, will keep

the steel core cool and will prevent distortion of that core. Keeping the diamond matrix cool in segments

will improve speed and life.

Conical segments will lower vibration thanks to the consistent gap between

the segments. There will be an increase in product life thanks to the

greater size of the segment and a decrease in noise due to there being

less air distortion in motion.

In line, 30 degree gullets help clear debris faster and they

improve life as a result.

Similar to narrow gullets, key-hole gullets result in less

chipping of the material being cut and a reduction in vibration levels.

Similar to continuous turbo rims, there is less chipping of the

material and faster cutting thanks to the castellation of the segment.

The debris is cleared quicker and the blade is kept cooler.

Deep draft segments give the diamond blade undercut protection, whilst cutting in abrasive materials such as asphalt or abrasive stone.

Wide gullets clear debris faster when cutting through abrasive materials.

Inclined wedge segments give the diamond blade undercut protection, whilst cutting in abrasive materials such as asphalt or abrasive stone.

A reinforced flange gives the diamond blade more stability under extreme use and keeps the steel core in line, therefore giving a cleaner, straighter cut.

MICRO segmentsUsing 25mm micro segments reduces

the contact area with the material and therefore increases cutting speed. The increased number of

gullets also improves the clearance of debris, extending the life of the blade.

BUILDING MATERIALS

All DURO diamond blades (except DURO BASE) have a colour coded bandon the label to give a quick reference to the material application type.

Please ensure that your blade selection matches the material you intend to cut - however, this is a guide only and some blades may crossover more materials than suggested below.

WhiteFor highly dense and very hard materials such as granite, slate, Class A engineering bricks, clay products, flint concrete, heavily reinforced concrete.

GREY For universal use in most hard to medium hard materials such as reinforced concrete, Class B engineering bricks, kerbs, lintels, beams, cast pipes, flags and general building materials.

Yellow For the longest lifetimes with high in-feed rates in the widest possible range of construction materials, from the hardest engineering bricks & reinforced concretes to paviors, soft blocks and roof tiles - and even the ability to occasionally cut asphalt - all in one blade.

Black For extremely abrasive materials such as soft cement screed, lightweight concrete & cellular block, abrasive sandstone and grit stone, as well as tarmac and hot rolled asphalt on roads and pavements.

Red For all construction site materials including, but not exclusively, types of metal. Uniquely shaped with air cooling holes drilled into the steel core & use of a very large diamond grit.

BOTH GREY & BLACKFor both concrete and asphalt applications. Either application is possible exclusively or jointly, with similar results.

FOUR COLOUR CODESFor universal applications. Cut almost any material, excluding heavy metal applications (above 10mm gauge) with absolute ease and security and very high life times. These products are of the very highest level of performance.

DURO BASE Entry line blades for universal use on most medium to hard building materials, including lightly reinforced concrete, medium hard bricks and stones.

• Speed may be adjusted to suit site conditions. • For very abrasive materials an increase

in drill speed (rpm) will prolong life.• For harder materials, decrease the

drill speed to prevent overheating.• Machine and material are the controlling

factors to the life and speed of the core.• Ultimately, machine and operator determine

the overall performance.
