Writers & Books invites writers submit to its Silver Anniversary Bookmark Series. To celebrate its 25th Anniversary, Writers & Books plans to produce 25 bookmarks for its members and significant others.

Writers are invited to submit poems of 10 words or fewer in line length and 45 lines maximum length. (Lines could be

longer, but will end at 10 words). Only one submission per person. If selected, writers will receive 100 bookmarks.

Submission should include permission for Writers & Books to use the poem in this way in perpetuity, three lines about the writer, mailing address, phone number and email. E-mail submission is preferred with the poem included in the

body of the message. The non-competition is open immediately, closes March 31, 2006. Those selected will be notified as selected and not later than April 15, 2006.

The Art Association of Oswego is issuing a Call for Artists to take part in its 9th Annual Lakeside-Statewide Juried Arts Exhibition April 1-April 30, 2006. The exhibition will be held in the Oswego Civic Arts Center, which is located between the historic site of Fort Ontario and the Safe Haven museum. This annual juried art exhibition is open to all New York State artists 18 years and older, working in sculpture, ceramics, drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking, photography, computer art and all fine craft. The entry deadline is February 12, 2006. SUNY Geneseo, School of the Arts Lockhart Gallery Call for submissions 2006 marks the 100 year anniversary of Susan B. Anthony’s death. In commemoration of her tireless campaigns for access to fair and equal rights for all, SUNY Geneseo will embark on a yearlong celebration of Susan B. Anthony’s many legacies. School of the Arts’ Lockhart Gallery is calling for work to include a “kick-off” exhibit. Work should offer some critical insight to historical and / or contemporary legacies of Susan B. Anthony’s efforts as an abolition-ist, educational reformer, labor activist, temperance worker, suffragist and women’s rights campaigner. Work in any media will be considered for the exhibition. Please submit slides or digital images of work for review. Also, please include a statement about the nature of the work and its relevance to “The Legacy of Susan. B”. The National Endowment for the Arts has announced the launch of NEA Jazz in the Schools, an educa-tional resource for high school teachers of social studies, U.S. history, and music. She also taught at the Creative Workshop of the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, NY and at the Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery in Canandaigua, NY. In 2006, in addition to the local teaching in Rochester, g.a. will again teach a workshop in Hilton Head March 20 to 24, as well as a class at the Hilton Head Art League Academy in Hilton Head Island, SC in February and March. She will also teach a workshop in Dingle, Ireland June 3 to 10. Reports to: Vice President of Advancement Full-time, 35 hours a week; Monday-Friday; some weekend and evening hours as needed The Grants Manager reports to the Vice President of Advancement and works closely with the Vice Presidents of Programs and Collections, Finance and Administration, and their staff. Responsibilities include writing and editing of private and pub-lic grant proposals, management of grants, maintenance of grant production calendar, and conducting prospect research. Cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of corporate, foundation and government funding sources. Assist, as necessary, lead department staff to create compelling and accurate proposals, reports and correspondence. Ensure all grants are reflective of program capacity and consistent with institutional mission and vision. Facilitate, as necessary, the collection of data as needed for proposals. Assist in the development of systems to promote the institutions capacity for submission of grants, implementation, and accountability. Other responsibilities as assigned for the fulfillment of the Advancement Department Goals. The Grants Manager contributes ideas, talents, and energy to the RMSC team to build capacity for the institution. Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, a non-profit professional theatre is downtown Rochester is seeking stage managers for current and upcoming productions. DCT’s stage managers participate in rehearsal process, help with technical (set and costume construction, lighting and sound design, finding or building props), and run shows (lighting and sound operation, calling times to cast, etc). Positions available immediately, and may be able to be subbed-out as necessary with other stage managers. It is possible to have long-term work with many performances throughout the year (theatre operates year-round, and has three different theatre facilities with productions running in rotating repertory-generally 400 performances of 25-30 different productions annually).
