    All editorial correspondence should be sent to: Professor Elizabeth Clark, De-partment of Religion, Box 90964, Duke University, Durham, NC 27708-0964.Books for review should be sent to Professor Michael Slusser, Department ofTheology, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA 15282. Manuscripts (originaland one copy) should be typewritten or printed on a letter-quality printer anddoublespaced throughout (including quotations and notes). After acceptance forpublication, the Journal strongly prefers to receive contributions in Word Perfect(IBM or MAC) or Microsoft Word (IBM or MAC). Either 51A" or 3 V/ disks areacceptable. Manuscripts can also be submitted in ASCII format (please ask forinstructions). Please send a hard copy of the manuscript with the disk. Disksubmission guidelines are available from the editor. Most word-processing codesare acceptable, but please avoid all ornate typography; i.e., don't use computer-ized italics, but underline words to appear in italics; don't use boldface type; anddon't vary pitch and font in text. Use a plain font that is not proportional and donot justify righthand margins. Leave hyphenation off. A 100-150 word abstractshould accompany each article. Contributors whose papers contain extensiveamounts of Greek or Hebrew must contact the editor for special instructionson submitting Greek and Hebrew characters on disk or else transliterate suchpassages.

    Copyright and Permissions. It is the journal's policy to require assignment ofcopyright from all authors. It is the author's responsibility to obtain writtenpermission for unpublished or published materials quoted in excess of fair use,and for the reprinting of illustrations from unpublished or copyrighted material.
