This week our country celebrates Thanksgiving. We remember the struggles of our early forefathers and their want to thank God for the blessings they received. Each year we gather at Church to worship God and pray for our country and for all the people. We pray that we will remain faithful to God and be thankful for the many blessings God has bestowed upon us. We gather to pray for those in need of food or shelter, and we pray for the poor. There is not a better way to show God how thankful we are than to gather as a community to worship and show Him our love and thankfulness. I invite everyone to come to Mass on Thanksgiving Day and pray with me and give thanks. As another reminder, we will be offereing Thanksgiving Dinner in Annunciation Hall for all those who will be alone for Thanksgiving. Dinner will be served at noon with all the fixings. If you are interested in coming, please sign up in the Atrium. If you are going to be alone, please join your parish family for a nice hot meal, and you won’t even have to wash dishes! Next weekend we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King, the close of the Church Liturgical Year. Then we begin the Season of Advent. Advent is a time of preparation for the coming of Christ. I might suggest that this year for Advent you give an hour to the Adoration Chapel and sign up to spend an hour with Jesus in the Chapel.
