I love Thanksgiving because of its sole purpose of thanking our God for his goodness, his grace and all his blessings in life no matter what is going on. I love the gathering together with family and friends. I love the turkey and dressing, especially with cranberry. The homemade rolls drenched in giblet gravy. I love the different desserts. I love the preparation, the kids running around, the busy kitchen. I love the prayer time before we eat—holding hands in a circle, each thanking God for different things, but most importantly and more significantly for our Lord Jesus Christ. When I was a kid, family time this time of the year was something I longed for, and at the same time dreaded. My dad worked in Vietnam and he came home for the holidays. I longed to see him, enjoy our family time together, and yet there was real fear. Fear that my parents would fight. Which they often did. Both my parents became believers in the Lord Jesus Christ later in life, with my dad becoming a Christian a couple of weeks before he died. The Lord Jesus Christ did not only rescue us from the ugly mess of our family life but he has given us so much grace that we can appreciate and thank him even for the hardships and difficulties we face. I think the reason I love all the turkey and dressing and gravy is not just because of their taste. Turkey and dressing and gravy and all the Thanksgiving goodies evoke all the goodness and grace of God in my life. Whatever my circumstances. And so, I give thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!!! “Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 106:1) Lakan From the Pastor... Happy Thanksgiving! I love Thanksgiving because of its sole

purpose of thanking our God for his goodness, his grace and all his blessings in life no matter what is going on. I love the gathering

together with family and friends. I love the turkey and dressing, especially with cranberry. The homemade rolls drenched in giblet

gravy. I love the different desserts. I love the preparation, the kids

running around, the busy kitchen. I love the prayer time before we eat—holding hands in a circle, each thanking God for different things,

but most importantly and more significantly for our Lord Jesus Christ.

When I was a kid, family time this time of the year was something I longed for, and at the same time dreaded. My dad worked in Vietnam

and he came home for the holidays. I longed to see him, enjoy our family time together, and yet there was real fear. Fear that my

parents would fight. Which they often did. Both my parents became believers in the Lord Jesus Christ later in life, with my dad becoming

a Christian a couple of weeks before he died.

The Lord Jesus Christ did not only rescue us from the ugly mess of our family life but he has given us so much grace that we can

appreciate and thank him even for the hardships and difficulties we

face. I think the reason I love all the turkey and dressing and gravy is not just because of their taste. Turkey and dressing and gravy and all

the Thanksgiving goodies evoke all the goodness and grace of God in my life. Whatever my circumstances. And so, I give thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! “Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD,

for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 106:1)
