For more than 10 years UTS has further developed and optimized the Triton® plant system famous for its ring-in-ring construction. This system is built with one central tank being framed by one or more concentric rings to add additio-nal fermentation or storage space. This type of biogas plant has been success-fully built and operated in Europe numerous times because of its many signifi-cant advantages.
The most important features are:
· Ring-in-ring construction· Outer ring is used as fermenter· Inner ring is used as secondary fermenter· Outer ring is covered with a concrete ring while the inner ring can be covered with either a concrete roof or foil roof· Reduced space requirements
Our UTS biogas plant system Triton® offers you advantages like no other system available on the market:
· Minimize your operation costs and at the same time increase your gas yields· Optimized streaming· Better mixing of substrate by using UTS mixing technology· No more short-circuiting· Equalize retention times of your substrates· Excellent accessibility for maintenance works by using the UTS Service-Box· Very compact construction· Fermenter heights of up to 10 m possible· Minimal heat losses· Shortest piping design· Very low parasitic heat consumption

Key performance indicators
Under which conditions can you get out the most of UTS Triton®´s advantages?
• Plants bigger than 500 kWel or gas injection plants• Average dry matter content in the fermenter of 12%• Minimization of own heat consumption (important with regards to gas injection plants)• Substrates that are likely to form layers in the fermenter• Construction sites with limited space available or expensive land• Construction sites in very cold areas

Fermentation of difficult to mix substrates
The channel-like design of the outer tank (fermenter) allows problem free mixing of substrates with high dry matter contents. An efficient use of the mixing energy is especially important with high dry matter contents. This efficient energy use is guaranteed by the UTS Triton® system. The quick mixing of all substrates allows a higher volumetric loading going hand-in-hand with increased gas yields.
The result is an extremely robust operation with greatuser-friendliness combined with high plant availability.
