COEFFICIENT RANKINGS

A coefficient ranking list has been established, taking account of teams’ results in the qualifying round

only (win = 3 points, draw = 1 point, defeat = 0 points).

Associations with the same coefficient have been separated using the following criteria in the order given:

1. better goal difference;

2. higher number of goals scored;

3. lower number of disciplinary points based only on yellow and red cards received in the qualifying round

matches (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3

points);

4. higher position in the coefficient ranking list used for the qualifying round draw;

5. drawing of lots.

DRAW PROCEDURE

The 24 associations will be drawn into 6 groups of 4 teams:

Pot A (green balls)

Associations ranked from 1 to 6

Pot B (blue balls)

Associations ranked from 7 to 12

Pot C (yellow balls)

Associations ranked from 13 to 18

Pot D (red balls)

Associations ranked from 19 to 24

The draw will start with Pot D and end with Pot A. Each pot will be emptied before moving to the next pot.

First draw phase

The teams in Pot D will be drawn one after another and placed in the fourth position in Groups 1 to 6.

Second draw phase

The teams in Pot C will be drawn one after another and each one placed in the third position in one of

the six groups.

Third draw phase

The teams in Pot B will be drawn one after another and each one placed in the second position in one

of the six groups.

Fourth draw phase

The teams in Pot A will be drawn one after another and each one placed in the first position in one of

the six groups.

For both competitions, the teams will be allocated to groups in numerical order in such a way as to ensure

that no winners and runners-up from the same qualifying group meet each other in the elite round. If

clashes arise, the team drawn will be moved to the next available group. The draw continues by first filling

the slot left vacant. If clashes arise in the last three or four groups, the teams will be allocated to groups

appropriately.

MATCH DATES

WU17 competition must be completed by Sunday 2 April 2017.

WU19 competition must be played during one of the two FIFA women’s international match periods: from

3 to 11 April 2017 or 5 to 13 June 2017.

QUALIFICATION FOR THE FINAL TOURNAMENT

The six group winners and the best runner-up will qualify for the final tournaments, which will take place

as follows:

2016/17 UEFA European Women’s

Under-17 Championship

2016/17 UEFA European Women’s

Under-19 Championship

Czech Republic, 2–14 May 2017 Northern Ireland, 8–20 August 2017

To determine the best runners-up in the elite round, only the matches of the runners-up against the

winners and third-placed teams in their group are taken into account, and the following criteria are applied

in the order given:

1. higher number of points;

2. superior goal difference;

3. higher number of goals scored;

4. lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received (red card = 3 points,

yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points);

5. higher position in the coefficient ranking list used for the qualifying round draw;

6. drawing of lots.
