Next weekend, our Mass times change on Sunday morning. Are you ready? Have you selected a Mass to try out? Are you a meadowlark morning person or a night owl? If the former, the 7:00am might be just the Mass for you. The music will be largely old standards and have a more classical flavor. When you return home at 8:30am, you have the whole day before you. If the latter or if you have sleepy kids, maybe 11:00am suits you better. The music will be led by our Filipino groups: Himig Penoy (3rd Sunday) and Couples for Christ (1st Sunday) and our Young Adult (YA) choir. All three groups are very contemporary and amplified. If you like that lively sound, perhaps this is the Mass for you. Our 5:00pm Saturday Mass features a mellow, uplifting sound, like you’d hear on KLUV or other Christian stations. Our Sunday Night Choir likes our newer Catholic composers and a rock & roll feel. All our choirs work very hard to lead the rest of us—the Main Choir—in our musical worship.

GROW A ROW FOR ST JOE Is your garden super abundant? Do you have more zucchini or cabbage than you can possibly use? Is your apricot or peach tree loaded? Saint Joseph Family Center (SJFC) would love to share your abundance with families who have so little. Bring your fresh produce to SJFC Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Your little act of kindness will mean a great deal to a family suffering food insecurity. Thank you and God bless your caring heart and your green thumb!

4. Be a good listener. Take the time for open conversation with your children and answer their questions honestly, this provides endless opportunities to talk about caring and respecting for others. Simply lead by example and you’ll accomplish a lot.
WEEKEND LITURGY QUESTIONS/COMMENTS ~ JUNE 26, 2016
1. Jesus’ directives seem demanding and even harsh. Jesus says to let go of other pursuits or demands.
2. Jesus challenges his would-be followers to place the Kingdom first. There is an urgency in his call which admits no distractions or delay.
3. While we are often distracted by many cares, Jesus calls us to focus. As we enjoy a break from school this summer, reflect on how to keep the call to follow Jesus a priority and not be distracted. Are we too focused on tasks instead of people, or rules instead of compassion?

ST. MARY SCHOOL – SIMPLY THE BEST Giving your child a foundation that stand the test of time…
A Catholic School Education St. Mary School is accepting applications for the coming school year for Kindergarten Year 1 (4 year olds), Kindergarten Year 2 (5 year olds) and openings currently available in some grades. In the area of curriculum, we take great pride in our 11-year old Science Lab, our strengthened math and language arts programs, computers and Ipads integrated into the curriculum and the emphasis on core subjects. The spirit of community is strong for students and families; our Catholic traditions, values and teachings are an integral part of our students’ daily lives. Would you like to find out more about providing a CATHOLIC EDUCATION at St. Mary School for your child? We invite you to call the school office at 408.842.2827 throughout the summer (see summer hours above) for more information and to arrange a campus tour. You can also find out more about us at www.stmarygilroy.org.

IT’S SUMMER VACATION AT ST. MARY SCHOOL Please continue collecting your General Mills Box Tops for Education (simply deposit them in the collections basket during mass). Also, don’t forget that Scrip, gift certificates that benefit St. Mary School Programs, are on sale at the school office during summer hours.
