BAHRAIN - 9745 Radio Bahrain hrd Nov 3rd from Perseus site in Scotland from 2251 UT tune with nice signal buthvy co-channel QRM from Han Sheng Voice of Kuanghua - normally the Han Sheng xmtr is fading by 2200-2230 UTbut not so today - remained very much in play past 2300 while Bahrain was fading between S2 and S4. ContemporaryME vocals with recorded program ID by man at 2253 UT as "98.4" fol by short Arabic anmts and back into music.Recorded anmt by man w/ echo at 2320.5 UT fol by man ancr in Arabic to 2321 UT. BHUTAN - 6035 BBS Thimphu Bhutan hrd Oct 13 from 1156 UT tune and as noted by Ron Howard, significant QRMfrom a pulse jammer on 6030 kHz (QRM most noticeable after 1210 UT, but seemed to fade in and out) - at 1200.5 and1202.5 UT hrd short indigenous inst music and a man ancr from 1201 to 1217 UT. Another short inst music piece 1217to 1217.5 UT fol by same ancr as at 1201. More music at 1221-22 UT fol by different man ancr. At 1223.5 UT a malevocal w/ orchestral accomp to 1231 UT. Flute inst at 1231 UT fol by what seemed to be an interview between studioancr and a male remote caller to 1239.5 UT w/ more flute inst music. More orch music and female vocalist until off inmid-song. As Ron noted, decent sig strength this morning from the Perseus site NoEast of Edmonton with a SINPO of33333. Improved to near S4 after 1220 UT until s/off. Pgm suddenly off in mid-song at 1241 UT but carrier appearedto stay on (however this might have been CNR-1 carrier as I did not see the spectrum display at s/off). CFRX Toronto 6070 kHz hrd Oct 24 from 0123 UT tune from Perseus site in Centraal Germany using the NAm beverage -much discussion about yesterday's terrorist attack at the Ottawa Parliament building and frequent ads (Nicoret ad at0123 UT) - annmt by man giving schedule for complete coverage of Parliament attack "details tonight at 11". Time givenas "9:45" at 0145 UT. Excellent signal mixing with RHC at approx. equal strength, SINPO 43544 - not bad considering1 KW vs. 100 KW into Germany! (Bruce W. CUBA - … it seems likely that I will be able to test on 3365 kHz 90 meters Tropical Band Frequency that we onceregistered for Radio Rebelde ... This time when we do the test it is going to be with a 50 kW transmitter of the same typeused for Radio Progreso 4765 kHz in 60mb, that will stay on that frequency all along the B-14 ITU period. The timingof the 90 meters band test will be announced and a special QSL is in the works ... Do not expect 3365 kHz tests untillater this year, but they will be done, as I am looking forward to a very bad tail end of solar cycle 24 and a worst thanever in radio history cycle 25.
