We Recycle All Our Plastic

You can’t recycle silkscreened base material, so we use sublimation instead, and then properly recycle all of our excess base material. We also use water-cleansed grinding systems to minimize airborne particulate levels, and our offices have recycle bins for daily plastics, various papers, aluminum and glass.

We Recycle All Our Wood

A soil and compost operation is conveniently located right next door to Mervin, which is where all our scrap wood ends up so it can be recycled as soil additive. We foster Fast-Growing Farmed Wood: For years, Mervin has devotedly utilized renewable, fast-growing forest products for our cores!

Drop Beans Not Bombs

Mervin’s ExperiMENTAL Division Leader Mike Olson loves beans! When he’s not eating them, he’s fashioning bio-plastic topsheets made from them. Mervin is now employing an all-new, earth-friendly bio-plastic top skin made from beans that features the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any top sheet in the industry.

Size Doesn’t Matter

Mervin doesn’t waste odd sized wood-we employ our finger joiner to utilize what would normally be throwaway core pieces. These cores are actually stronger at the joint than regular wood, resulting in almost no waste wood and poppy, powerful boards.

Lib Tech Biodiesel

Mike and Norm run a Lib Tech biodiesel co-op with a filling station next to the factory. This fuel heats our factory and runs many employees cars, as well as those of neighboring locals. Plus, the factory’s electricity is “green” power specially contracted from the local PUD (Public Utility District).

Safe, Clean, Healthy

We use the safest-possible epoxy resin systems with minimal VOCs (volatile organic compounds), as well as soy-based elastomer on our sidewalls instead of toxic abs. And forget harmful solvents-we clean house with citrus-based solvents instead!

Mervin sublimates rather than silkscreens its graphics, which eliminates the need for the cancer-causing, toxic automotive-lacquer gloss coats you see on many shiny snowboard top sheets.

Did you know…..Envi is short for ENVIronmental. While all of our boards are the top in environmental friendliness, the Envi is ahead of the rest. Buckles

Microbuckle: mini ratchet allows you to tighten or release strap tension instantly and anywhere, even in the middle of the run. (ROCK-it POWER, ROCK-it BLAST)

Chairlift Relief Buckle: Push in the release button and the ankle strap opens. Increases circulation and keeps feet and toes warm, while keeping strap settings in place. At the top of the lift simple pull the buckle back into place and you’re ready to go.

Tool free telescope cam lever: light and easy to use. Flip open the lever, adjust straps to desired length and snap into place.

Multidisc

Enables riders to use 3 or 4 hole insert pattern insert systems. Countless stance options to cater to your preferences use disc slots angled nose to tail, or heel to toe. [Not available on youth bindings.]
