We perform to the best of our ability in each class (may vary for each individual) and seek extra help from our professors when needed. We understand that the single most important reason we are at NAZ is to receive a world-class education.

• Weekly study tables are used to help introduce and reinforce effective study habits.

• It is expected for our team to surpass general eligibility requirements. In the past our team has received NCAA Academic Awards and recently have maintained a team GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Reason #5: Training Staff and Equipment

• Nazareth's stadium complex includes a 15,000 square foot athletic center consisting of team rooms, public restrooms, a fitness center, training center, equipment room, office space, lockers and more.

• Every practice and game is covered by one of our full time athletic trainers and a student trainer. Our training facilities provide student-athletes with opportunities throughout the whole year for rehabilitation and individual attention to injuries.

• Because the fitness center is filled with state-of-the-art circuit training equipment and top-notch free weight sets, the athletes at Naz can develop the power and strength needed to compete at a championship level.

• Assistant Athletic Trainer Mike Fahy conducts vigorous plyometric workouts 2-3 times a week throughout the year to enhance speed, agility, and flexibility for our Nazareth athletes. The staff also works one-on-one with athletes to create sport specific weightlifting programs.

• Through our “Little sister program,” our players are mentors to some local elementary school basketball players.

• As Coach Gotham’s new program grows, our fan base and alumni support continues to do so as well.

• Each year many alumni assist the program in three areas: career mentoring for our current student-athletes, recommending any outstanding high school prospects with whom they are familiar with, and at least one personal visit to campus- hopefully to see a game or a practice.

• A basketball newsletter is distributed regularly to keep alumni up to date with the progress of our program.

• An annual Alumni Basketball Game is held allowing the graduates of Nazareth to feel that they are still and always a valuable part of the Nazareth basketball family.
