Why Islamic Research Methodology?

1. Unsuitability of conventional research methodology in studying Islam & Muslim community

2. Inadequacy of tools of analysis of the conventional methodology in understanding social reality

3. The danger of the conventional methodology to Islamic aqidah

The state of Islamic Research Methodology• Began since 50’s: Islamic Research Circle Bulletin in Aligarh, India• 60’s: Changed to Islamic Thought• 1991 –Research Methodology in Islamic Perspective Seminar, organized by Aligarh Muslim University, India (the only one)


The state of Islamic Research Methodology

• Occasionally & not continuous• Not many literature exist• Only one academic meeting• No serious research undertaken

• Publish continuously high quality research-based literatures on Islamic Research Methodology
