The following members answered roll call: Trustees Fitzhugh, Gilbert, stone and Proctor. Absent, Trustee Smith. On motion of Trustee stone, duly seconded and carried, the regular order of business was dispensed with. The City Clerk Shall certify to the passage of this resolution by a vote of more than two-thirds of the Board of Trustees of said City of Torranee.

That the public interest and necessity require and demand the acquisition, construction and completion of a certain municipal im­provement necessary and convenient to carry out the objects, purposes, and powers of said City of Torrance, to:-wit; the acquisition of land for the purpose of erecting and completing thereon a sewage Disposal System, including the acquisition and construction of buildings, struct­ures, pumps, reservoirs and other works necessary therefor; that the estimated cost of said municipal improvement is the sum of $50,000; and that said estimated cost is and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said City of Torrance.

The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution by a vote of more than two-thirds of the Board of Trustees of said City of Torrance.

The grading of Carson street for thirteen (13) feet on each side of the center line thereof from the western Boundary of the city of Torrance to the extension across said street of the line be-tween lots 13 and 14 of Block 52, Torrance Tract, including the intersections of all intersecting streets and alleys between said limits, and the paving of said street for five (5) feet on each

RESOLVED: That the City Attorney be and he is hereby instructed to prepare and submit to this Board of Trustees an ordinance qalling an election to be held on the lOth day of April, 1922, for obtairiing a vote of the electors on the proposition of' issuance and sale ,k:lf bonds for the purchasing of land for a Sewage Disposal System for.the City of Torrance, and for the paving of portions of Carson street and Arlington Avenue, and re-surfacing portions of Arlington Avenue, Carson street, Marcelina Avenue and El Prado. '

Trustee Gilbert advised the Board that the chamber of commerce wished to know What the Board of Trustees would charge them'as rent for office space, the original proposition not being accepted, he al'80 ad~ vised that there was no janitor service in connection with the room, but that by paying ~25.00 rent, janitor service would be furnished, and made the following motion, that the Board of 'i:rustees pay w25.OO per month for rent of room, to include janitor service, and that the Board SUb-let to the Chamber of commerce, use of the room and furnishings, for which the , Chamber of Commerce are to provide light, heat and telephone.
