Kia ora koutou!

Term 4 is always a very busy term; it is only 9 weeks and is already well under way.

Our school wide topic this term is “water’. This is broad enough to allow lots of scope for lots of interesting learning and discovery.

Our senior class is preparing for their careers trip to Auckland due to happen in week 5 starting on Monday November 13

th. They have

many interesting sites to visit as they investigate many different things people do to make a living. This is part of extending our students experiences of the real world and an opportunity to find some goals to aim for.

We are preparing for athletics and our field is now dry enough to be set up for running, long jump, high jump, shot put and discus. Next Friday 3

rd November is our day for

the central zone athletics.

Our swimming pool is ready and waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer. When we officially start swimming lessons our students are expected to bring togs and a towel in a plastic bag every day.

We have had a great first couple of weeks with two top theatre shows, The NZ theatre company ran a very professional theatre for the whole school, Puss ‘n’ boots last week, and today we had the Duffy Theatre.

Our latest school design is going through its last stages of approval today, my fingers are crossed. Here’s hoping. We are expecting a new school by next Christmas…… Not before time.

antibiotics to stop the sore throat

Let’s go surfing now! Last Tuesday the year 5 and 6s went to Ahipara for a have a go surf day! We all had so much fun- even Matua Monte and Whaea Rell braved the cold to show us their stuff! We are very lucky that this event is fully subsidised and very thankful to the Surf Bros for having us for the day.
