How to Perform An Independent Review in DM

All A/OPCs and higher level roles have the ability to perform Independent Reviews on Data Mining flagged transactions

(within their organizational hierarchy). An Independent Review can only be accomplished after the A/BO completes their review.

There are two types of flagged transactions in Data Mining (Approximately 4% of all DoD GPC transactions are flagged for A/BO review).

1.At-Risk Transactions – make up ¾ of the overall 4% for flagged transactions and include High Risk Transactions. High Risk Transactions make up approximately 20% of the 3/4 and have a score of over 900 per the Risk Predictive Model in Data Mining.2.Random Transactions – make up the other ¼ of the overall 4% for flagged transactions.

A/OPCs are required to perform an Independent Review on all High Risk Transactions.

An email notification is sent to the A/OPC upon completion of the case review by the A/BO. This

informs the A/OPC an IR can be performed.

Select your non-EMAIL Certificate

You are at the Standard Mandatory DoD Notice and Consent page. Click the “OK” button.

Select Logon MethodSmartcard (CAC,PIV)

Click “Continue”

The user enters their PIN. Click the “OK” button.

Click “Sign In” button.

Click on the “Log on” button for Data Mining

Click the “Select” button next to the appropriate User Role and Hierarchy Level Value Trail

The Independent Review is performed after the A/BO completes a review of the transaction and dispositions the case. Click on the

down arrow button to scroll down.

Scrolling down allows the A/OPC to view the details of the A/BO review

Click the “Add Independent Review” button

Select the drop down arrow to view available Case Dispositions

The user has the following choices for a case disposition: Valid Transaction, Administrative

Discrepancy, Misuse, Suspected Fraud, Abuse, Lost, Stolen or Contract Payment

A/OPCs should add their comments. If the A/OPC disagrees with the A/BOs review, the A/OPCs case disposition and comments should reflect this but the A/BO disposition will not be changed in the system.

Click the “Save” button

Independent Review is successfully added message. Click the “OK” button

The information is added to the Action History
