"I MUST PARTNER AS A SOULWINNER WITH THE MISSIONARIES WHO INVOLVE IN WORLD MISSIONS." VOLUME 22 • ISSUE 40 • OCTOBER 07 PARTNERS IN INVOLVEMENT As we all get excited for our Missions Conference at the end of this month, let our monthly theme “Partners in Involvement” challenge us to do our best in being God’s partners and inspire us to accomplish our task in fulfilling the Great Commission. God’s work cannot be done by one person alone. Since God is faithful in strengthening us, we must be faithful, too, in doing our part. While the world and religion are still trying to prove that men can be saved by their own good works, let us thank God for enlightening us to know and believe that we can only be saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Let us then realize that Jesus died on the cross, and did His part, and trusting Him would be our part. As Christians now, we still have to perform our part as God strengthens us. There are souls that need to be saved, and God is counting on our faithfulness! There can really be no greater part - ner in our life other than God. If we keep on trusting and obeying His will, our task will surely be blessed. I covet your prayers as I preach today in Taiwan. Have a blessed Sunday! DR. ED M. LAURENA

As we all get excited for our Missions Conference at the end of this month, let our monthly theme “Partners in Involvement” challenge us to do our best in being God’s partners and inspire us to accomplish our task in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Gospel tracts, preaching/music CDs & Sunday School/Discipleship lessonsare available @ the ushers' table after the service.

The Lord’s blessings upon us are more than millions of pesos. In fact, the Bible asserts that the Lord has “blessed us with all spiritual bless-ings” which are exceedingly enrich-ing. With such enormous wealth, God is asking us to share an amount to complete our PI,000,000.00 com-mitment for His mission work. Let us be a blessing by giving our part.

We only have nine Sundays to go before our scheduled family camp. Since we have a goal to avail of the exclusivity of the Rizal Re-creation Center, we are all enjoined to pay our camp fee at the earliest possible time. Payments may be given to Sis. Bajo Tolentino at the ushers’ tableafter the evening service.

The happiest people on earth...are the people who have discovered the joy of giving.

Giving Thanks When It Takes FaithIn the late 1800’s George Muller operated an orphanage that at one time had 1,000 orphans. One morning there was no food to eat, but he called all the children and staff together and prayed thanking God for the provision of food, even though no food was on the table. A few moments later a baker knocked on the door. He told Mr. Muller that God had led him to bake bread the night before and give it to the orphanage. Before the bread was given to the children, a milkman knocked on the door. He said that his milk truck had broken down and he wanted to give the milk to the orphanage. George Muller gave thanks, even when it took faith to do so.

Giving Commitments“I have heard people say that they will not sign any pledge—not even to give a certain amount of money—because they might not be able to fulfill it. May I say to you, if you buy a house, or anything on which you are to make payments, they are certainly going to make you sign on the dotted line. I don’t know why people can sign up for everything else in life, but they are afraid to sign up with God. My friend, if you mean it, sign up with Him. Oh, how many folk have failed Him, but He is gracious. If we mean business with Him, He means business with us.” J. Vernon McGee

A Merchant's MottoGeorge Moore, a nineteenth century merchant, wrote these words in his pocketbook: “What I spent I had: What I saved I lost: What I gave I have.”

The Wrong Car (humor)

The story is told of a woman who had finished shopping and returned to her car. She found four men inside the car. She dropped her shopping bags, drew a handgun, and screamed, “I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get out of the car.”

Those men did not wait for a second invitation; they got out and ran like crazy. The woman, somewhat shaken, loaded her shopping bags and then got into the car. But no matter how she tried, she could not get her key into the ignition. Then it dawned on her: her car was parked four or five spaces away!

She loaded her grocery bags into her own car and then drove to the police station to turn herself in. The desk sergeant to whom she told the story nearly fell off his chair laughing.

He pointed to the other end of the counter, where four men were reporting a carjacking by an old woman with thick glasses and curly white hair, less than five feet tall, and carrying a large handgun. No charges were filed.

You see, she thought it was her car, but it really belonged to someone else.

We think our lives and our finances are our own, but they really belong to God.
