There are 100 Clubs and Societies to join at the Liverpool Students’ Union, and if you can’t find the one you are looking for you can always set up a new group yourself.

The Liverpool Students’ Union ensures that the student voice is heard and acted upon by LJMU.

Engineering students in our Formula Student team test drive their racing car designs on the Silverstone Circuit.

Our £1.6million Clinical Practice Suites enable nursing, midwifery and paramedic students to train on-campus using hospital-standard facilities and treat virtual patients. The Suites show a patient’s journey from a home environment through to rehabilitation.

Sport and Exercise Science students compete to win placements with Everton FC at their Finch Farm training ground and similar opportunities are available at Liverpool FC and other league clubs.

Our School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences has outstanding connections with games developers, academics and industry professionals around the world.

Working with researchers from across Europe, the United States, Japan, and Australia, LJMU scientists have discovered a new kind of signal from a powerful exploding star in the distant universe.

Our internationally-acclaimed engineering research is leading to real breakthroughs in radiotherapy and other cancer treatments.

LJMU research explores the effects of music on the cardiovascular system, and most importantly, what we need to be listening to in order to reduce our blood pressure in a traffic jam.

It is estimated that 1 in every 400 children in the UK are affected by cerebral palsy. Working alongside partners including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, the Biomechanics team, based at the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, has conducted research into virtual rehabilitation to train postural control in children with this disability.

LJMU developed and built the world’s largest robotic telescopes, including the LJMU-owned Liverpool Telescope, located in La Palma, Canaries.

An international team of scientists from universities around the world including LJMU have discovered that the extinction of mammoths and sabre-toothed cats in the Basin of Mexico could have been caused by a series of volcanic events.

A new analysis by the School of Natural Science and Psychology on bones from a cave in Southern Cumbria has found the earliest human bones known from Northern Britain.
