Phu Soi Dao10Phu Soi-dao National Park is situated in an approximately area of 78.34 square kilometers or 48,962.5 rai, covering the areas of Pa Nam-pad National Conserved Forest, Tambol Muang-jedton, Tambol Na-khum, Tambol Ban Koak, Ban Koak District, Huai Moon District, Nam-pad District of Uttaradit Province, and Tambol Bor-pak, Chattrakarn District of Pittsanulok Province.

The topography of the National Park consist of beautiful virgin forests, which are the sources of streams and rivers. Major sightseeing spots include Phu Soi-dao Waterfall, a beautiful 5-step waterfall situated in an approximate area of 1,000 rai, which can be accessed by an asphaltic road to facilitate the travelling for recreational purpose.

Phu Rua9Phu Rua National Park, as with Phu Kradung, is located on the western mesas and is special for its profusion of unusual plants [ orchids, rhododendrons and pines ]. Phu Rua comprises 121 square kilometres [ 47 square miles ] and is situated on one of the flat topped sandstone plateaus with a maximum elevation of 1,365 meters [ 4,478 feet ]. The peak of Phu Rua is accessible by motor vehicle driving from Loei.

Phu Rua is located in Loei and at its highest peak is 1,365 meters above sea level. The other lesser peaks are Phu Ku at 1,000 meters and Phu Sun at 1,035 meters above sea level. ''Phu'' is the Tai Lao word for mountain just as ''Doi'' is the Khon Muang word for mountain in Upper North Thailand.

Doi Mae Ukor8A national park in Mae Hong Son Province on the Doi Mae Ukor, Mae Surin National Park is blessed with waterfalls and a vast field of wild sunflowers (bua thong) which bloom in November. You can visit a Hill Tribe in Khun Yuam district. However getting to this national is in itself a challenge as Mae Hong Son Province is over 900 km form Bangkok and can be reached by air and then by road to Khun Yuam district and on a further 90 km to Doi Mae Ukor.

Phu Hin Rong Kla7Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park has an area 307 km2 or 191,875 rai. It covers Dansai District of Loei Province and Nakon Thai District of Phisanuloke Province. It is blessed with natural beauty and historical significance. Unfortunately, fighting there during the communist years did untold damage to the forest.

The general topography of the park is steeply mountainous. The northern part of the park in Chaiburi Dstrict borders Laos. The Southern part of the park runs into Petchabun Province. The mountain range includes the peaks of Phu Pangma, Phu Lomloh, Phu Hin Rong Kla and Phu Mahn Yow, the tallest in the park at 1,800 meters above sea level. The second tallest is Phu Lomloh at 1,664 meters. The park is the headwaters of many streams, including Huai Muad Kon, and Huay Luang Yai.

Phu Kra Dueng6Phu Kradueng is a mesa covering over 160,000 square meters. On top, there are pine trees, plants, and waterfalls. However, the most dramatic sight is a dramatic overhang, protected by a solitary pine tree. This area is important to the people in the area and the serves as symbol of the province.

Phu Kradueng National Park is located in Amphoe Phu Kradueng in the Loei Province. The landscape consists of sandstone mountains and has many plants and pine trees. The National Park Office is in Tambon Si Than.

Phu Chi Fa5Phu Chi Fa is located in Amphoe Thoeng in the Chaing Rai Province. This mountain gained its name because of its pointed summit (Chi means point in Thai). You can drive the majority of the way to the top. However, if you want to reach the summit, you will have to get out of your car and walk.

Phu Chi Fa is particularly popular with tourists wanting to see the sunrise. In the early morning the valley below is covered with a blanket of fog. As the sun rises, the fog slowly begins to burn off. When the fog lifts, you can see the Mae Khong River and deep into Laos.

Huai Nam Dung4Located on the joint border between Mae Taeng District of Chiang Mai and Pai District of Mae Hong Son. Total area covers 179.5 sq.kms Here the scenery is beautiful, especially the sea of flying mist in the morning. Many tourists like to come and pitch tents (there is minor charges for pitching tents), tasting the cold weather at the top of these high mountains whilst awaiting the dawn mists.

Interesting places are:-Doi Kiew Lom Viewpoint  On the top of the hill, one can enjoy a panoramic scenery, stretching up to Doi Luang Chiang Dao. -Doi Chang Viewpoint The highest spot of Huay Nam Dang National Park. Here is the origin of several waterfalls. Located in the north of Ban Huay Nam Dang, there is a famous viewpoint in the morning. -Huay Nam Dang Waterfall The fall originates from a canal, passing through 3-4 levels. Its height around 50 meters and width 10 meters.

Khao Kor3Khao kor mountain is one of all popular places in Thailand. It located at Phechabun province, Northern part of Thailand, 346 kms. from Bangkok. Doi Ang Khang2During the winter, tourists like to travel to the Chaing Mai Province to camp and enjoy the blooming winter plants. Doi Ang Khang standing 1,900 meters above sea level, borders Burma and is located in Amphoe Chai Prakan.

Doi Angkhang, Fang District is the side of the Royal Agricultural Project accessible via highway 107, with a left turn at kilometer 137 and then along a steep winding road for another 26 kilometers to the top of the hill. It is here that substitution crops for opium are being grown including fruits, flowers, vegetables and herbs, along with other cash crops grown for the purpose of agricultural development among the hilltribes in the area, including the Luha, Pha-Lhong, Yunnanese and Thai Yai. At Doi Ang Khang visitors can see plants being cultivate in this cooler climate including apricots, peaches, plums, carrots, salad greens and beautiful flowers such as carnations, roses, asters and chrysanthemums.

Doi Inthanon1Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand. The mountain was also known in the past as Doi Luang (meaning big mountain) or Doi Ang Ka, meaning the crow's pond top. Near the mountain's base was a pond where many crows gathered. The name Doi Inthanon was given in honour of the king Inthawichayanon , one of the last kings of Chiang Mai, who was concerned about the forests in the north and tried to preserve them. He ordered that after his death his remains shall be placed at Doi Luang, which was then renamed.

It covers 482.40km2, and spreads from the lowlands at 800 metres altitude to the peak at 2565 metres. Doi nitanon is the highest mountain of Thailand at an altitude of 2,565 meters. While on route to the peak you can visit 2 waterfalls maned Vachirathan and Maeklang water fall. And the Hill tribe market.
