WHEN USING RIGID PANELS.

NovaCase provides a strong signcase which can accept rigid panels from 3mm to 6mm. Panels are retained using a reversible bead which is pre-set for speed of fabrication.

A robust support section (shared with NovaWide, NovaFlex, NovaLarge and NovaComp) allows plenty of space to obtain secure fixings. Use of the system’s

reinforcing and corner angles ensures rigidity throughout the signcase.

PROJECTOR A projection box with an overall width of 175mm makes use of integral sections to suit both 3mm and 5mm applications removing the need for excess bead screws, which can prove unsightly on smaller sign cases. NovaCase has its own stand-off bracket giving a

wall projection of 65mm and corner reinforcing brackets eliminate any sagging.

NOVAWIDE At 207mm in depth and with an increased wall thickness, NovaWide is ideal for

large pole mounted double sided signage when backlit acrylic panels are preferred. The system has its own reinforcing brackets for both single and double sided cases and uses the same bead profile as NovaCase. Single sided boxes are used for larger

signs giving a striking image or when a deeper, more robust case is required.

FORECOURT SIGNAGENovaCase can now be used for Forecourt Gantry signage, introducing NovaLarge,

AN ARRAY OF PRACTICAL USES FOR SIGNMAKERS Use NovaSlim for anything from neat point of sale units to outdoor fascias on the high street. With all the same features as NovaCase, the system can accommodate up to 700mm in height and any length. NovaSlim is great for individual units up to a width and height of 1.8m2 for single sided displays. Integral extrusions are available for both 3mm &

5–6mm applications, creating a screw free appearance ideal for transparencies and posters.

BACKBOXESA swift and simple solution as a backbox for folded sign trays. By omitting the face

bead, boxes are reduced to just 80mm in depth, giving a solid unit to install electrics into. Fix through its vertical support bracings on-site before offering the tray over and

securing on all four sides.

PROJECTION BOXESIntegral sections and a purpose designed stand off bracket offer a 65mm projection from

the wall. NovaSlim gives an extremely neat appearance, with an overall width of just 100mm. Reinforcing internal corner angles eliminate any sagging once installed and

the system is great for double sided display boxes up to 0.65m2.

AN EXTREMELY SIMPLE AND COST EFFECTIVE METHOD OF HANGING RIGID DISPLAY PANELS

FOR NON-ILLUMINATED APPLICATIONS FOR BOTH EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR USE.

A standard fascia using a 5mm acrylic/foam panel can be housed in NovaTrim or NovaCurve and for signs over 1100mm in depth, NovaTrim Plus is the system to use.

With a visible face depth of 35mm, NovaTrim is ideal for most applications. NovaCurve has the same face depth but gives a more classical picture frame effect. Multi-panels can be loaded from the front, making NovaTrim the choice for installations where access is a problem. Knock in corner angles are available for all sections as well as the conventional

right angled corner bracket.

FOR LARGER SIGNS NovaTrim Plus has a visual face depth of 45mm and is designed to ensure safe panel

retention when larger signs are required.

FOR SMALLER SIGNSNovaTrim 3 has a visible face depth of just 20mm and is perfect for 2–4mm panels such as composite, aluminium and acrylic, giving a discreet finish to smaller signs.

NovaTrim Composite also takes 2–4mm panels and shares the same look as NovaTrim although it is clearly identified using die pips and grooves. Both are proving

to be extremely popular on the high street, utilising the vast range of composite materials available. NovaCurve 3 is also available for a curved finish.

Installations range from retail parks large entrance signs to canopy installations, giving a joint free visual to all sides. Flex can also be used as an alternative to a folded tray on the high street by using NovaSkin. The new NovaComp section allows rapid fabrication of the world’s most popular flex system. An extruded cladding section manufactured in rigid, high impact PVC. Designed specifically to clad the perimeter of fitted flex sign boxes where a colour change is required, eliminating the need to paint on site or even renew the box. FlexClad has a simple snap break point enabling use

BACK LIT ILLUMINATED SIGN BOXES NovaSkin effectively transforms the NovaCase and NovaSlim light box systems into

a flex face, giving all the attributes that these sign cases offer including projection boxes. There are 2 extrusions which fit directly onto the NovaCase and NovaSlim box systems. A 20mm framing (NOV 432) and a full bleed capability (NOV 433) for

maximum area when designing the sign’s graphics. NovaWide at 207mm in depth can also be used for flex face applications.

TENSIONINGThe skin is tensioned and held by tapping a plastic extruded strip into its seating channel for a rapid and simple installation. Excess material is simply cut away from around the

perimeter by use of the trim channel to guide the blade.

NOVASKIN FRAMEAt just 40mm in depth, NovaSkin Frame (NOV 431) is perfect for non-illuminated flex

projects, giving the sign designer the ability to print stunning graphics while producing unobtrusive signage. NovaSkin tension clip is only 20mm, giving a near maximum area for graphics. Larger frames can incorporate support section (NOV 103) for added strength.

FABRICATION SPECIFICATIONSThe NovaSkin adaptors are used in place of the beads on both NovaCase and NovaSlim systems. NovaSkin frame is mitred to required size and manufactured using knock in corner angle (ACC 148) or alternatively extruded corner angle (ACC 130). ACC 130 Extruded Corner Angle

1. Assemble frame and secure through internal face on the die line. Fit at approx. 600mm centres (this may

need to be more if fitted to cladding).

2. Using the small pieces of clip supplied, with a mallet first pin the skin along the top dotted line at approx.

600mm intervals to ensure skin is level. Then do this down the sides and along the bottom.

3. Fitting the full length clip, use the thumb and finger to hold the skin which will give enough tension so as to

offer the clip in with the outside edge first and tap into position removing the smaller clips as you go.

4. Once all 4 sides are in place and the skin is wrinkle free, trim the excess around the perimeter with a Stanley knife.

NOVATEXWith single and double sided options from 40mm to 175mm in depth, of which all can be illuminated, NovaTex gives the designer multiple choices for placement of stunning images.

NovaTex uses a ‘passive wedge’ to tension the textile face and secure it in position. A discreet pull tab is located in one corner and anti tamper security screws can be fitted if required.

NOVADISPLAYNovaDisplay works with a gripper system which removes the need for any face

preparation. Images are pushed into its channel using the installation tool provided giving wrinkle free images every time. The systems “soft nose” design gives a friendlier visual

of the display box and is constructed with a screw free appearance. At 90mm the single sided option can be surfaced mounted whilst the double sided profile at 100mm allows

for both free standing and hanging applications.

SOFTCOMP At 32mm the SoftComp framing system is perfect for slim non-illuminated images. No face preparation is required or any trimming on site. The skin is simply pressed into the internal grip strip and when complete a plastic perimeter cover is snapped

into place which removes the need for any painting of the frame.

AN 80MM DIAMETER INNOVATIVE OVERHEAD LIGHTING SYSTEM DESIGNED FOR THE

ILLUMINATION OF ALL TYPES OF SIGNAGE.

KEEPING THE INSTALLER IN MINDNovaTube is a quality overhead trough light incorporating fixing arms which have a number of unique features designed to assist the fitter to overcome any unforeseen

problems that inevitably occur on installation.

FIXING ARMSFixing arms are telescopic, giving a 50mm extension to allow for any uneven surfaces on the fascia. The wall fixing bracket is supplied vertical to the main body section, however this can be rotated to the horizontal position should obstacles prove to be a hindrance.

The standard wall projection is 320mm with a minimum of 190mm. Alternatively, fixing arms can be supplied up to 500mm in length if required. The bracket itself has 5 definite tilt positions achieved by simply loosening the dome nut and locating the

desired cog in the main body section, ensuring that all fixing brackets on the unit are in exactly the same tilt position, directing the beam of light to the correct area whether

wall mounted or top fixed for double sided units.

LIGHTING OPTIONSThe system has been designed to house the extremely efficient Starcoat T5 fluorescent tubes which are now available and are powered by electronic control gear. These tubes are capable of omitting a light flood of some 2000mm. NovaTube lends itself perfectly to the use of LED illumination and given its very small size, gives an unobtrusive site line

for the lighting of any fascia comfortably illuminating up to 2500mm.

OPTION FOR OVERHEAD LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS WITH SIGN TRAYS AND POLE AND PLANK

PARTICULARLY IN MIND.

SIMPLE TO INSTALLNovaHood has been extruded with a continuous fixing ledge giving the installer the most simple of tasks in offering up the unit to the top of the sign tray or indeed a

NovaTrim frame and simply fixing down through the top.

ADJUSTABLE OPTIONSNovaHood remains in a fixed position and is good for lighting areas up to 650mm in depth. An adjustable hood bracket is also available (ACC 158) which is used with NovaTube and gives the same application as NovaHood but with the added feature

of being able to adjust the unit if required.

LIGHTING OPTIONSThe system has been designed to house the extremely efficient Starcoat T5

contact offers both extruded planks and fabricated header panels into any of the 3 posts and the wall mounted quadrant,

POLE & PLANKSIMPLE TO USE, EXTERIOR WAYFINDING SIGNAGE

SYSTEM OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY FEATURING ALL THE OPTIONS YOU’LL EVER NEED.

There are 14 extrusions in the range, including round or square posts, a D post and a wall mounted quadrant post. All 3 standing posts have internal ribs which will house a standard

bracing bar when required. A reversible infill bar allows all four posts to be neatly closed off.Three sturdy double sided planks are available in widths of 100mm, 150mm and 200mm.

Each plank has a screw port to take a shoulder location pin which when driven home, engages the relevant post. Planks or fabricated panels can slide easily in the post’s channel

omitting the need to attach full height slider units which can be difficult to fit on-site.

Header panels are fabricated using a panel plank section (NOV 601) and bracing support bar (NOV 610) which uses VHB double sided tape to produce double sided

panels. The budget section (NOV 614), is a cost effective solution for single sided panels using the round post. Units are manufactured in mill finish prior to powder

coating and delivered to site for installation flat packed.

MONOLITHS, V SHAPES, TRIANGULAR APPLICATIONS RIGHT ANGLED & 3 SIDEDOur V Carrier (NOV 611) is used with the round post to achieve both V and triangular

signs. The Quad slot (NOV 612) can be used for finger posts and is perfect for right angled and 3 sided units or as a middle support for larger signs. Flat faced Monolith signs can be produced using the Box 78 section (NOV 613) and either the D or square posts

FABRICATION SPECIFICATIONSAdd 18mm to plank/panel size when using the square post. Add 14mm when using D post and wall mounted quadrant. Adding 14mm when using the round post gives you the cutting size and allows the plank/panel to locate 9mm and 7mm respectively within the posts. Units up to 1000mm in height should be planted by a minimum of 600mm and at least a third of the overall height thereafter. Use the steel insert facility on all signs over 3000mm high. Panels fabricated using panel plank (NOV601) and bracing bar (NOV 610) should be constructed from a 2mm rigid material using (NOV 601) top and bottom and (NOV 610) at both ends and at 600mm centres thereafter.

These tubes are always powered by individually fused High Power Factor low smoke low fume gear trays. Tubes are configured to give maximum light coverage on each application

and a fused outlet spur fitted when multiple gear trays are used to accept the incoming feed.

WE HAVE TESTED AN ARRAY OF DIFFERENT LED LIGHTING OPTIONS TO ENSURE THE BEST RESULTS DEPENDING ON

THE SPECIFIC APPLICATION REQUIRED FOR YOUR PROJECT.

We use several types of LEDs depending on the system used. Flex boxes obtain the best results using a bat wing module which spreads the light in a similar way as the fluorescent tube.

For our other systems we use a range of different LEDs. Its important to realise that lighting

which suits NovaCase (165mm depth) is not suitable for NovaSlim or NovaTex (90mm & 100mm depth) and vice versa. Our range of trough lights are powered using a taped bright

strip led which provides an even wash down the fascia.

From 40mm in depth up to 200mm in depth, we can back light your display unit.

Using LED lights can lead to a reduced power consumption of at least 25% and the associated cost savings to run.

SIGN TRAYSOUR MANUFACTURED TO ORDER SIGN TRAYS

USE THE LATEST FOLDING TECHNOLOGY.

ALUMINIUM SIGN TRAYS Our sign trays are manufactured from 2mm thick aluminium, with welded and dressed corners and require no additional strengthening. They can be supplied complete with hanging rails if required and painted to any standard RAL colour.

COMPOSITE SIGN TRAYSComposite sign trays are available in a range of colours and finishes. Trays can be

fabricated in one piece up to a maximum face dimension of 2900 x 1900mm; trays of larger sizes are easily produced and have a simple butt join system enabling the fabrication of trays to almost any size. Industry standards generally dictate a 50mm

return for sign trays; we can however produce this to any dimension required.

Why not use NovaHood or NovaTube to light your sign tray (see page 44). Remember all of our sign trays are available in any standard RAL colour to order.

FACTS AND KEY PROPERTIESColour silicone can be used for the sealing of all internal and external corner

joints and section joining of all aluminium sign boxes giving a professional finish. The silicone is good for sealing acrylic, Upvc, composite sheet, metal and finished wood. Fixology colour silicone reacts with moisture, remains permanently elastic, and is non-aging, durable and non-paintable. An application test is recommended prior to use. Do not use for natural stone or aquarium applications. It is always

the user’s responsibility to determine suitability of use.

DIRECTIONS FOR USESurfaces to be sealed must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, frost, grease and other contamination. Cut the cartridge tip and applicator nozzle to the required dimension, screw nozzle onto cartridge. Temperature application range between

+5°c and +40°c. It is always the users responsibility to determine suitability of use. If in any doubt, consult technical data sheet. Wash hands after use.

STORAGEIn a cool, dry environment, product can be stored for at least 18 months from its production date in original, unopened container at temperatures between +5°c and +30°c.
