Tornado Flushing TechnologyTOTO's Tornado technology is a gravity, siphon jet flushing system featured in many of TOTO's toilets for residential or light commercial applications. Tornado technology features many advantages, with an emphasis on a balanced and clean flush. It is named from its rimless design which features two jets on either side of the bowl, creating a propulsion action that more effectively cleans the toilet bowl when the toilet is flushed. Toilets traditionally feature a perforated rim for the bowl wash, which is less effective at cleaning the bowl due to "dry spots" and lack of propulsion force. While also powerful, the flush was specifically designed to be balanced so as to more effectively flush down all types of waste and paper. Tornado toilets are available in both 1.28 and 1.0 gallons-per-flush.

CefiONtect Glazing Technology (Formerly SanaGloss)CefiONtect glazing is a TOTO-exclusive technology used on some lavatories and toilet bowls. The technology refers to a surface that is so microscopically smooth that particles are less likely to stick to it, making products with this technology more bacteria and dirt resistant. The benefit to the end user and to the environment is that these products require less cleaning and maintenance with harsh chemicals. The glazing is fired on to the china, so it cannot be worn away with normal use. Like all china, CefiONtect glazing can be damaged by impact or unsuitable cleaning materials, so avoid abrasive cleaning implements or products. Products with this technology are indicated with a letter G in the model number (ex. LT542G#01). Many of TOTO's lavatory products use this technology as well as many toilets, including all of TOTO's Tornado and 1G toilets.

EcoPower Technology

TOTO EcoPower technology uses the flow of water to generate electricity for the operation of TOTO commercial sensor faucets and flush valves. The power of the incoming water pressure spins an internal turbine, charging capacitors that store the energy for the sensor's next use. EcoPower products also include a back-up lithium battery, which can power the sensor in the event that the capacitors lose their charge (from a lack of use, for example). TOTO EcoPower faucets guarantee a 10-year lifespan of the battery, though they can often last twice as long in high-use applications. EcoPower is exclusive to TOTO and, unlike battery-only brands, the more a TOTO commercial valve or faucet is used, the more effectively it self-powers. Most competing sensor commercial products require routine battery replacement (as often as once a week, depending on the application). Because of their dependency on batteries, battery-only valves are offline 5-20% of the time due to battery failure. EcoPower's reliability is the main reason TOTO's commercial flush valves and faucets are commonly specified at hospitals, airports, firehouses, and other never-offline installations.

eWater+ TechnologyeWater+ refers to a toilet bowl cleaning technology employed in some TOTO Washlet and Neorest products. It works in two stages. In the first stage, when a proximity sensor detects a user approaching the toilet, the interior of the bowl is misted with water. This "pre-mist" helps evacuate waste from the bowl 80% more efficiently than a dry bowl. The second stage occurs after the user has flushed the toilet. The interior of the bowl will be misted with electrolyzed water to help fight against bacteria. (When ordinary tap water is electrolyzed, it has bleach-like properties which help sanitize the toilet bowl, a process that is also used in fruit and vegetable sanitation. The water returns to its normal state after two hours.) eWater+ has significant user- and eco-friendly implications, since it helps keep the toilet safe and clean while reducing the need for harsh chemicals or multiple flushes. This technology is featured in the S300e and S350e Washlet models, as well all Neorest models.

Connect+ Technology

Connect+ refers to a Washlet water and power cord-concealing system that improves the aesthetic appeal of the bidet seat option. Bidet seats from all brands must be connected to a water supply and usually a power supply in order to function, but some homeowners are dissatisfied with the look of cords around their toilets. Connect+, available exclusively from TOTO, is an ideal solution. In order to take advantage of this system, both the Washlet and toilet must share this technology: the toilet will have a hole for the cords to pass through, and the Washlet will feature a cover for the hole, effectively concealing the cords (as visualized below). It is heavily recommended to order the toilet and Washlet as a kit (kits will have a separate model number – ex. MW614584CUFG). As separate items, Connect+ is indicated in the model numbers of both toilets and Washlets by "T20." Connect+ is available in both S-series and C-series Washlets and most Tornado flushing system toilets.
