Depleting Natural Resources Deterioration of Forest cover Soil erosion. Acute shortage of water. All leading to precarious conditions and contributing to

vicious cycle of Poverty. For arresting this vicious cycle of poverty there is need to

strengthen and augment all the assets on sustainable and efficient mechanism.

enriching Land and Water resources. Social : Empowering Women and Local Community.

Introduction• Water is biggest crisis we are facing today in terms of severity

and its spread.• Out of 328 million hectares of total land 175 million hectares

is declared as waste lands.• Watershed treatment in most of the lands thus has to be

highest priority.• Every third person in the country is badly affected by this

crisis.• C.C.T. has proven that waste land can be transformed into

valuable Natural capital at very low cost within short time and with guaranteed results.

• Out of the waste land most of the area can be converted into valuable and bountiful Natural capital to overcome the water crisis.

• C.C.T. is based on knowledge input as against costly inputs in conventional techniques of watershed development.

• C.C.T. is applicable to diverse Agro Climatic zones for watershed development; soil conservation and forestation.

Benefits of C.C.T.• Soil loss becomes nil. • No surface run off. • Barren area gets permanent biomass cover and soil is

protected.• Good soil moisture and good ground water available in wells

and tanks.• Clean water for drinking.• Evaporation losses are negligible as compare to Tanks and

Dams.• Stops migration to cities in search of livelihood.
