The most important economic sectors are agriculture (in the western part of our province), fishing and aquaculture (to the east), manufacturing, commerce and tourism, mainly in the central part of the province of Rovigo.
AGRICULTURE
The Agriculture sector accounts for about 10%
of the employed people in our province.
TEXTILE – CLOTHES
Nowadays these sectors
are negatively influenced by the economic
crisis more than other
sectors.
WOOD
The wood industrial sector is still in one of its worst economic periods.
ENGINEERING INDUSTRY
The situation is similar to the national one and deeply affected by the current
negative trend.
BUILDING INDUSTRY
Also this sector is suffering even if the situation is much better than in other fields. Employment has lowered and starting-ups keep diminishing.
CHEMICAL, RUBBER AND PLASTIC SECTORS
There is virtually no change in the number of businesses belonging to these sectors but starting-ups are in decline.
COMMERCE AND TOURISM
.
The trend is not negative and both sectors show an increase in employment. Tourism is increasing, especially in the Po Delta, which is a very important tourist destination for its natural resources.
Anyway the crisis is present in these sectors, as well.
