ENG-WONG, TAUBTRAFFIC ASSESSMENT REPORT

It is important to note that the results of this “pre-conceptual” analysis are based on …. Preliminary assumptions and would likely change based on changes in background regional traffic volumes associated with revisions to the NJDOT Penns Neck model (i.e., with the Vaughn Drive Connector included as a stand-alone improvement without any of the US-1 upgradws previously identified in the Penns Neck EIS).

Principal objectives– Confirm findings of my initial “sketch” analysis (3/31/08)

– More specific traffic data to guide sizing and layout of streets and intersections

2030 No-Build Assessment

This analysis indicates that at each of the three signalized intersections in the Study Area, traffic volumes will exceed capacity even with no further development action within the redevelopment area and if no further mitigation is applied. In considering alternatives for the Route 571 improvement, the Township clearly articulated its objective to limit roadway widening, even if congestion were to result. The findings of this analysis are consistent with that position.
