Proposal for e+ source studies for the CLIC Base Line (unpolarized e+)

Proposal for e+ source studies for the CLIC Compton ring (polarized e+)

Two proposals with corresponding deliverables

Deliverables by LAL for the CLIC Base Line studies: 1) Detailed characteristics of the targets and the corresponding geometry. 2) Provides the Peak Energy Deposition Density (PEDD) for each target and the heating consequences and verifies the possible mechanical stresses. 3) Detailed beam characteristics at the end of the e+ Pre-Injector Linac (bunch charge, transverses and longitudinal emittances, energy, energy spread, bunch length, ....)

Deliverables by LAL for the CLIC Compton ring studies: 1) Study if the existing design of the optical/stacking cavity could be rescaled for CLIC requirements after ATF results. 2) Detailed laser characteristics corresponding to the proposed stacking cavity. 3) Characteristics of the photons flux with the corresponding geometry (distance, collimation,....). 4) Assuming that a single target will be used, detailed characteristics of the target. 5) Provides the PEDD and parameters related to thermal and mechanical effects. 6) Results of simulations optimized at 200 MeV showing detailed beam characteristics at the end of the e+ Pre-Injector Linac (bunch charge, transverses and longitudinal emittances, energy, energy spread, bunch length, …..). 7) Results of experimental tests at ATF for the optical cavity and the laser system.
