STANDARD INJECTION• Long ignition delays result in large quantities of fuel being injected before beginning of combustion• It results in high rate of pressure rise, leading to shorter life and increased noise
ELECTRONIC PILOT INJECTION (EPI)• Small quantity of fuel is injected in advance of normal injection• It reduces the rate of pressure rise, thereby improving life and reducing noise & vibrations
