Energy-saving swimming pool heat pumps prolong the swimming season

You can use the pool heat pump to extend your swimming season considerably at a reasonable cost and maintain a comfortable level of heat in the pool even on days when the sun is not shining. Additionally, a pool heat pump is very easy to install and maintain when compared to other heating alternatives such as solar collectors.

Swedish design and product development

Our proprietary vertical pool heat pump, which ispart of the V-series, is the best-selling pool heatpump today in the Nordic countries. The pool heatpumps from the V-series reduce energy consumption by around 65-80 %, compared to traditionalheating via electric heater.

We have supplied everything from smaller pool heat pumps for private swimming pools to pool heat pumps for public pools. Applications include the largest public bathing area in the Nordic countries, such as Skara Sommarland and Tosselilla, etc.

Robust quality with long product service life

Basically we at Gullberg & Jansson are an engineering company with extensive experience in thermodynamics andenergy-saving products. Our pool heat pumps are characteri-sed throughout by high robustness in terms of materials and component selection as well as having an appealing design.

Gullberg & Jansson’s pool heat pumps in the V-series, H-series, R-series and P-series are estimated to have an anticipated service life of around 15 to 20 years, which is based on the service life of components that do not normally need to be replaced such as compressors, heat exchangers, evaporators, etc. Our pool heat pumps in the S-series, which are intended for indoor pools, are expected to be used all year round and the estimated service life in this case is about 10 to 15 years. However, you can expect that there will be a need to replace other parts of the pool heat pump as part of normal wear and tear over this expected service life.

World-class service and support

We invest a significant portion of our resources in creating problem-free product ownership for our customers, and the availability of spare parts and support is an essential component of our offering. A pool heat pump is a relatively complex product with a number of different components that need to interact well together, such as the display, fan, con-trols, compressor, heat exchanger, four-way valve, etc. and throughout its service life there may be a need for service and replacement of some basic parts.

the winter. Both the indoor and outdoor units consist of a stainless steel cabinetwith a horizontal air blower. All the materials and components in the S-series areof the highest quality. The S30 model is available in both single and 3 phase design.

3 phase design is recommended for larger swimming pool heat pumps

For larger pool heat pumps, with a fuse requirement greater than 10A, which applies to the popular swimming pool heat pump models V30, H30, S30 and R30, we always recommend a three-phase design (3P) if 3 phase connection is available. Some of the advantages with three-phase design include a softer motor start for the compressor, which can help to extend the service life of the product, and provide a more even load on the grid, which reduces the risk of a main fuse being tripped. Gullberg & Jansson’s pool heat pumps that have single-phase design in the V-series, H-series and S series are all* fitted with soft start for the compressor, which can contribute to a longer service life for the product.

The pool heat pumps from the best selling V-series have a vertical air outlet involving flexible installation and reduced noise levels, which the dual compressor insulation also contributes to. The fan motor is IP-class 45 (IP45), meaning it is highly resistant to rain and moisture, which is essential for a long product service life.

The evaporator coil in copper and aluminium is designed to effectively absorb any energy and heat in the outside air and redirect it to the compressor, after which the energy and the heat can be utilised in the heat exchanger and transferred to the pool water.

Our pool enclosures have a long service life thanks to robust designs, reinforced aluminium profiles and panels with UV protection on both sides. The anticipated service life of our pool enclosures with proper care can be 25 to 30 years. All models have soft and pleasing lines, and we have paid close attention to detail. Advantages of twin wall plasticTwin wall plastic provides a natural protection from prying eyes for those who want to swim under the pool enclosure. Any scratches are not as visible and the purchase price is lower than that of clear plastic.

Twin wall plastic is lighter and has channels with a gap of air, giving it slightly better insulation properties than clear plastic, see the U-values below.

Its ability to insulate is measured using U-values that denote the coefficient of transmission losses. A lower U-value (W/m2K; watts per square meter and degree) indicates better insulation. The U-values below represent the values of twin wall plastic in PC, polycarbonate.

We have 16 different pool enclosure models to choose from in our special range. All measurements can be ordered to ensure that the enclosure suits your particular requirements. You can also choose from different colours for the profiles. All RAL colours can be ordered at an additional cost. Our made to measure pool enclosures are always delivered in pre-assembled modules for even easier installation.

Our most popular made to measure pool enclosures are Nova Comfort and Stella Comfort, Alva, Emporia and Vista.

As new lines for 2015, we have launched two extremely robust pool enclosure models, Nova Infinity and Stella Infinity, with reinforced aluminium profiles for even better snow bearing capacity.

All pool enclosures are certified and approved in line with French safety and quality standards* and are covered by a 3 year material warranty. All pool enclosure models from Gullberg & Jansson are lockable and child-proof. They can be quickly unlocked with a key and meet the statutory requirements for child safety. Most pool enclosure models can be opened with solar powered motor operation at an additional cost.

* Standard NF P 90 309 covers factors such as child safety and snow bearing capacity. All pool enclosures complying with this standard can carry a minimum load of 45 kg/m2. The design and modelling of the aluminium profiles are crucial for the ability of the pool enclosure to cope with snow loads, while the various thicknesses of the twin wall plastic or clear plastic (3, 4, 6, 8 or 10 mm) do not have any significant impact in comparison.

Alva has been fitted with reinforced aluminium profiles to ensure the enclosure meets the French safety and quality standard NF P 90 309 despite its flat design, and can withstand a snow load of 45 kg/m2.The rubber strip (of high quality EPDM rubber) on the front end allows the enclosure to easily slip over the edge of the pool by about 8 cm.
