Autonomy is a great responsibility vestedin us to take the college to further heights. With autonomous status given to us, we coulddesign the curriculum for the holistic development of the students. NCCThe N.C.C. sub-unit at St. Ann’s has anintake of 200 students. The cadets aretrained in different fields, includingsocial service and leadership. Eversince its inception in 1989, the cadetshave distinguished themselves atnational and international levels.Several cadets have joined thedefense services.

NSSThe N.S.S. unit of St. Ann's has provideda platform for active studentparticipation in community service anddevelopmental activities. Thecontribution and commitment of theN.S.S. volunteers is directed towardsthe following programs - blooddonation camp, eye donation & HIVawareness, slum development, givingtime for street children, mentallychallenged children and residents ofold-age homes.

DHARINI ECO-CLUBEnvironmental issues are addressed by student volunteers engaged in activities likegreen greeting, Haritha Haram and Swachh Bharat campaign.

OutreachSAHHARA(St. Ann’s Helping Hands and Reaching Arms)

SAHHARA is a centralized extension activity involvingstaff and students. It provides a link between collegeand the community, sensitizing students to theproblems of society. Sahhara along with NSS, NCC,Eco-Club and Rotaract organize activities in theareas of Healthcare, Environment, Education,Women Empowerment and Leadership. Theneighboring community and Zilla Parishad HighSchool are part of the target group.

Rotaractors Club Chapter of St. Ann’s

Rotaractors of St. Ann’s support many causes andcontribute in health awareness programs and visitsto orphanages.

NGO Management

The course enables students in developing a betterunderstanding about the basic managerialconcepts of NGO workers.

The course enables students to be well-informed &responsible

Consumers and also educates them on ConsumerProtection Act.

Innovate 2 Enterprise

Monuments, Traditions and culture of Telangana

PHYSICAL EDUCATIONSports are an integral part of the St. Ann identity. The Department of Physical Educationhas invested substantially in infrastructure, including a well equipped gymnasium. Thegamut of sporting activities includes indoor games like caroms, table tennis and chess,and excellent coaching for handball, throwball, cross country, basketball, kho-kho,volleyball, kabaddi, tennikoit, softball and athletics. The fitness programme iscomplemented by recommended diet and nutrition. The college also provides financialsupport by way of sports scholarship to deserving sports candidates. There is a quota forundergraduate admissions based on their credentials in sports at the school and collegelevel. Students are offered placements in LIC, RBI, Railways and Corporate sector. Thecollege attracts players like P.V. Sindhu, Ruthvika Shivani, Sikki Reddy of national andinternational repute.

The Physical Education Department of St. Ann’s stands head and shoulders above theother affiliated colleges. By winning the Osmania Overall Championship for the 10thconsecutive year the department can rightfully claim to be a centre for sportingexcellence.

The college is housed in a 4 acrecampus with spacious, well-furnishedlecture halls, ICT enabled classroomsand well-equipped laboratories.Modern state of the art computercenters are located in the UG and PGblocks. Language teaching is aided bywell equipped language labs. Smartboards and LCDs add to the learningexperience at St.Ann’s. The new lookseminar halls fully supported by thelatest in audio and visual technologyoffer a conducive setting for thevarious seminars, guest lectures,workshops and other intellectualdeliberations. LibraryThe Library located in the heart of thecampus is the intellectual nerve centre ofthe college, connecting people andideas. With its quiet atmosphere and well-lit study areas, the library is a hub ofacademic inquiry. It is fully automated,with on-line public access catalogue,(OPAC), LAN, Internet and photo-copyingfacilities.

The Library (UG+PG) has a rich collectionof more than 75,344 books on varioussubjects. As many as 156 Scientific andTechnical journals/periodicals and 2600CD-ROMs/DVDs, 1081 back volumes areavailable for users. The centre hasinstitutional membership for differentorganizations. The library also provides abook bank facility and organizes Bookexhibitions on a regular basis.

ICT centreThe ICT centre in the college caters to thetech needs of faculty and students. Thecentre provides Wi-Fi connectivity to theentire campus. The centre has facilities fore-casting and the Utility Hub provides aplatform for students to earn while theylearn.

Celebrating yourachievementGraduation gold medals for academicexcellence are awarded to the top rankersof B.A., B.Com., BBM., B.Sc courses basedon their Part II CGPA scores. Toppers ineach subject of Part I and Part II will alsoreceive medals. Top rankers of PG coursesare awarded gold medals based on theirPart I CGPA scores. These medals areinstituted by the college management,members of the faculty and other well-wishers.

Students who demonstrate excellence inacademics, leadership activities, extra-curricular activities and career-relatedexperiences are nominated for award ofOutstanding Student in the graduatingyear.

CAREER COUNSELING & PLACEMENTS

The placement cell provides a platform forthe students to meet and interact withMNCs and private organizations /companies. The cell, in close associationwith the institute prepares a recruitmentschedule each year, inviting HRs for thepre-placement talks in the campus beforecommencing the recruitment process. Itarranges for soft skills training programs,workshops, seminars, aptitude tests,competitive exams and guidancecounseling classes.

The placement cell also provides studentsthe opportunity to get registered with TASK(Telangana Academy for Skil l andKnowledge) program. Every TASKregistered student is given an onlineaccount on TASK portal to check theirprofile, access the e-learning content,online assessment tests and get theupdates with respect to recruitment dates.

We are happy to share that B.Comstudents got selected for DELL duringcampus placements with the highestpay pack of 6.5 LPA, and alsoB.Sc(Computer Science) students gotselected for Verizon during campusplacements with the next highest paypack of 3.7 LPA. Around 80% studentsgot placed during the academic year2017-2018.

Active involevement outside theclassroom is central to St. Ann’s culture.Students are given a variety ofopportunities to be involved in activitiestailored to individual interest. Clubs, Cells,Units & Associations organize events,exhibitions & performances providing aplatform to students to engage theirpassions.

CULTURAL FESTCultural Fest celebrates the diversity andtalent that our students bring to thecampus. The year-long literary andcultural activities culminate in the annualfestival - Annofesta, followed by a grandChristmas celebration. The college choir‘Ann Melody’ provides spiritualnourishment and comport with theirinspiring music.

Life beyond the Classroom

Fresher’s day, Farewell to Seniors day,Christmas day are the other majorcultural events held in the college.

The college is a Minority institution, established and administered by a CatholicMinority. Therefore the minority candidates receive preference for admission. Therest of the admissions are based on merit at the qualifying exams.

• A provisional list of selected candidates will be displayed on the notice board,as per the admission notification. It shall be the responsibility of the candidatesto ascertain their selection.

• At the time of Admission, candidates have to submit the documents mentionedabove in Original. In addition to this, they have to submit the following:

a. 4 (four) Passport size photographs (recent only) of applicant and 2 (two ) ofparent.

b. Eligibility certificate from Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana for studentsfrom other states.

c. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from a foreignUniversity should submit all the relevant information / documents which justifythe equivalence of their qualification, along with the approval of OsmaniaUniversity.

d. Migration Certificate: A candidate, who is not in a position to submit MigrationCertificate at the time of admission, should submit the same as early as possible,but not later than four weeks after the commencement of the academic year.

e. Due weightage is given in matters of admission to sports students who havedistinguished themselves at State/ National levels. Candidates desirous ofseeking admission under sports quota should submit a separate proforma whichwill be issued on request. Relevant certificates should be submitted along withthe proforma in the sports department.

• Provisionally selected candidates are called for interview indicating the dateand time. The candidates shall appear for the interview along with their parents,bringing with them their original certificates.

• The admission committee comprising staff members from all disciplines offerspre-admission counselling to each and every candidate and guides them inchoosing the right course.

• The college reserves the right to cancel any admission in the event of discoveryof any incorrect or false information furnished by the candidate relating to thequalifying exam passed, marks obtained or any other certificates produced bythe candidate for seeking admission.

Fees : The details of the fees can be had from the college office.

Note : No refund of fees will be entertained if the parent decides to withdraw thestudent from the college.

AttendanceThe college lays absolute stress on attendance. It is compulsory for the students tohave a minimum of 75% in each subject and general attendance to be eligible toappear for the final examinations. Attendance is displayed on the notice-boards atthe end of each month. Students should be punctual and attend all their lecturesregularly. Students should give biometric attendance.

Tests and ExaminationsIt is compulsory for the students to appear for all the internal assessment exams.

General Conduct• Students are required to come decently dressed to the college. Dignity and

decorum should be maintained at all times. The college authorities reserve theright to take the students to task, if they violate the code of decency in dressing.

• Students should not bring valuables to the college. It is their responsibility totake care of their belongings. The college is not responsible for any loss ofvaluables.

• Using cell phones in the class rooms is strictly prohibited. Management is notresponsible for theft or loss of mobile phones

• All the students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner befitting thecollege community. If their behaviour outside the college, adversely affects thecollege image, appropriate action will be taken, as deemed fit by the college.Insubordination of any kind, use of unbecoming language or conduct is sufficientreasons for the dismissal of students from the college. Due respect should begiven to all the faculty members.

• Students wear their identity cards (completed in all respects) all the time, andthe same should be produced when required by college authorities.

• Students applying for certificates, testimonials, etc should submit back the samein the office. No student should directly approach the Principal for suchrequirements.

• Students should make themselves familiar with the notices displayed from timeto time on the notice board, notices/circulars sent to classes and anyannouncements made.

• Originals once submitted at the time of admission will not be returned for anypurpose. The students should keep the required number of photocopies of theircertificates. Once admitted, the original Intermediate T.C. will not be returned,but Degree College T.C. will be issued at the time of leaving the college.

• Refreshments from the cafeteria are required to be consumed there. Littering isnot permitted. The college premises and buildings should be kept clean.

• Parents should meet the principal as and when summoned to discuss their ward’sprogress

• Ragging is strictly banned.
