The goal is to increase the contract to a level where one new FTE can be dedicated to managethe contract and conduct veteran outreach

Apprentice Integration Manager

The Apprentice Integration Manager will work to create linkages between The Division of Apprentice Training and the local One Stop Career Centers

Identify what exactly Registered Apprenticeship is and what roles DAT and the One Stops have in making it a more effective workforce development tool.

Pathways to apprenticeships for both jobseekers and employers can be established.

The apprentice Integration Manager will collaborate with Workforce Investment Boards, One Stop Career Centers, Unions, Employers, Community Colleges and other training vendors on a region-by-region basis in an effort to develop strategies to improve the access to and the utilization of Registered Apprenticeship across the state.

Apprentice Integration Manager Hire by September 2009 in order for the plans

outlined to be implemented.

This position is vital to ensure that the policies described in the business plan are sustainable into the future.

Will create a cultural shift in the way the Registered Apprenticeship and WIA communities interact with the integration initiatives.

Will carry through administrations and directors.

The new position is DAT’s attempt at creating continuity and succession planning.

DAT will provide statewide articulation with pre-determined credit in an apprentice program for each student who successfully receives a diploma from a Chapter 74 school.

The student will receive pre- determined level of credit

The student must meet the minimum entry requirements and pass the interview process.

Articulation (cont.) Credit will have the benefit of increased

wages and standing in the program.

Credit will be given once the probation period has been completed.

Guaranteed credit is restricted to the career path of the student however individual programs may provide additional credit.

Parents and guidance councilors will be better able to help students plan their career choices.

EEO Outreach Plan

Goals

◦ To establish five standing outreach collaboratives statewide which include area members of organizations representing the underserved populations and area apprentice sponsors.

◦ To create an atmosphere of understanding and trust between all parties by identifying past experiences both good and bad on all sides.

◦ To establish an easily accessible central contact depository of outreach partners on DAT’s website. Sorted by area and coalitions.
